Marshall was just kind of staring at everybody when class started. He didn't look angry or anything. He was just staring, maybe looking a bit worried.

A little more staring.

"I'M AFRAID TO TALK TO EVERYBODY TODAY," he said suddenly. "So far today I told a radio squirrel that if I were another squirrel I'd totally tap that and I told Ted that I didn't really mind his red cowboy boots!"

Ignore the fact that nobody here knew who Ted was.

"What if I start doing lecture and I suddenly start talking about how I think Kaylee's little accent is about the cutest thing I've ever heard and how that sometimes I want to ruffle Sam's hair because it looks fun?" Marshall's eyes widened. "Oh god, I'm doing it already!"

He pointed at the buffet table which had all sorts of moddable sandwiches and subs on them.

"Sandwiches! They're delicious and easy to make! Eat them!" Marshall said. "And for the love of god, someone save me from myself!"

"Thank you, sweetheart!" Kaylee said cheerfully. "I think your hair looks cute now but it was cuter when we got up an' it was all sticky uppy. I'm sorry my feet were cold but thanks for helpin' me wake up for Ms. Aldrin's class!"

...okay, maybe there was a bit more detail than usual.

"That happened to another boy I was with one time," Kaylee confessed, and now it was her turn to blush. "But he was bein' stupid and the sex weren't as good as it is with you because I love you!"

And she personally felt that to be absolutely true.

"That's really young, Kaylee," he said, eyes wide. "I was stuck in Longburrow waiting for my dad to come get me. He never did. And I lived with all boys. I didn't think about sex."

"It's not like you could find him anyway," Ned said, shrugging. "He's got a new family and new children and he obviously thought I was old trash so he threw me out. And he doesn't know that I waited for him and prayed and hoped and asked for him to come back. He doesn't know that. Maybe he didn't hear me."
