Criminal Justice [first period, Tuesday 11/14]

Students had been handwave alerted to the fact that the class would be held in the Danger Shop today, and so V was waiting for them when they all filed in.

"Good morning," V said as the simulation immediately placed them in the spacious, white lobby of a building. "Today, we'll be doing a tactical simulation. You and the partner you chose last week have a mission: to find the control room at the top of the tower. In it, there is a ticking device, which will have quite an impact on the entire city if you don't stop it. And no, the lifts aren't working. Your mission, young ones, is to make your way to the control room while dodging guards and personnel, and disengage the device using only your available resources, and to do so by the end of the period."

He tilted his head. "And for now, that means wits and no weapons, though you all do get maps of the building. Oh, and a final thing. The building is not empty. This is a business. The civilians haven't any idea what's going on, though, and you mustn't panic them. You may, however, ask them for assistance in such a way as to not alert them to the situation."

V clapped his hands once, and then retreated to fully start the simulation. He didn't want to be in it, if old friends showed up.

All of the hallways look just like the lobby - high ceilings, extremely minimalist, modern decoration, and brightly lit. There are people bustling about, all speaking in British accents.

Aeryn's partner is apparently quite possibly dead at the moment, so she figures she's going this one alone. Trying to look like she's supposed to be there and knows where she's going, she heads to the end of the hall, where she figures the stairs are most likely to be.

Once you have reached the control room, you'll find a ticking device with a large red digital readout counting down from three minutes.

There is a pair of pliers.

There is a green wire, and a red one.

Which do you cut to save these people?

When Aeryn gets to the room, that's when she really isn't sure what she's doing. She walks up to the device, studies it for a moment just to see what it's doing and how long she has, then picks up the pliers. And reminds herself that it's a bad idea to beat a bomb.

Of course she's never seen a movie with this sort of thing (Jamie, you're slacking), and so she takes both wires, trying to cut them both at once. One's gotta work.

How this works is pretty easy. Get into the partnerships you formed last week (Seely and River, you guys are together, and Bel and Pete, you two are, since you four didn't match up) and figure out how you want to do this. Mod your maps and the building all you'd like within reason - just remember the elevators are out, and you need to get to the top of the tower.

I am somewhat insane so I'll be playing a number of extras, whom I'll be tossing into random threads. I'll be keeping an eye on everyone's threads, so if you specifically want NPC interaction, give me a ping in the OOC thread or direct a tag to an NPC, and I'll catch it.

Finally, the device you're defusing is not a bomb. It is one canonically, and it *looks* like one, but I'm out for crack today, not trauma. So whether you successfully defuse it or not is absolutely up to you. If you succeed, the simulation will end. If you fail, something else will happen, and THEN the simulation will end.

Finally the second, I should be around most of the day minus commuting/errands time, but again, give me a ping down here if I'm neglecting you, as I promise it is not personal.
