Criminal Justice [first period, Tuesday 11/14]

Students had been handwave alerted to the fact that the class would be held in the Danger Shop today, and so V was waiting for them when they all filed in.

"Good morning," V said as the simulation immediately placed them in the spacious, white lobby of a building. "Today, we'll be doing a tactical simulation. You and the partner you chose last week have a mission: to find the control room at the top of the tower. In it, there is a ticking device, which will have quite an impact on the entire city if you don't stop it. And no, the lifts aren't working. Your mission, young ones, is to make your way to the control room while dodging guards and personnel, and disengage the device using only your available resources, and to do so by the end of the period."

He tilted his head. "And for now, that means wits and no weapons, though you all do get maps of the building. Oh, and a final thing. The building is not empty. This is a business. The civilians haven't any idea what's going on, though, and you mustn't panic them. You may, however, ask them for assistance in such a way as to not alert them to the situation."

V clapped his hands once, and then retreated to fully start the simulation. He didn't want to be in it, if old friends showed up.

[OCD is coming up! Please refer to my massive OOC note for clarification!]

River nodded. "Wide enough even for you." She leapt across the shaft and caought the edge of the vent, then pulled herself inside. Turning back to Seely she said: "Your turn."

"Hers goes," Seely muttered to himself, before jumping across the shaft. To his great relief, he made the vent and pulled himself in.

River crawled ahead of Seely through the vent until it forked. Then she turned left.

Seely followed as closely behind as he could without risking getting trapped if the vent narrowed.

River stopped. She pushed away the grate in front of her and tumbled quietly down on the floor, landing on her feet.

Seely didn't tumble quite so quietly, although he at least managed to land on his feet. "So what now?"

River's eyes widened and she dived into a small cupboard and curled up inside it, pulling the door shut. "Hide," she whispered.

"Hide, I can do that." Seely looked for a slightly larger cupboard to crawl into.

Steps could be heard nearby. When they faded away, River slowly opened the cupboard door.

"Seely?"

Seely attempted to unwedge himself from his cupboard. "Yeah?"

"I think this might be the control room," River said, staring at the techincal equipment covering the far end of the room.
