Students had been ~~handwave~~ alerted to the fact that the class would be held in the Danger Shop today, and so V was waiting for them when they all filed in.

"Good morning," V said as the simulation immediately placed them in the spacious, white lobby of a building. "Today, we'll be doing a tactical simulation. You and the partner you chose last week have a mission: to find the control room at the top of the tower. In it, there is a ticking device, which will have quite an impact on the entire city if you don't stop it. And no, the lifts aren't working. Your mission, young ones, is to make your way to the control room while dodging guards and personnel, and disengage the device using only your available resources, and to do so by the end of the period."

He tilted his head. "And for now, that means wits and no weapons, though you all do get maps of the building. Oh, and a final thing. The building is not empty. This is a business. The civilians haven't any idea what's going on, though, and you mustn't panic them. You may, however, ask them for assistance in such a way as to not alert them to the situation."

V clapped his hands once, and then retreated to fully start the simulation. He didn't want to be in it, if old friends showed up.

"Good attention?" she asked, lowering her voice a little worriedly.

"Of course," Dean said with conviction. "It's all good."

"Good. You never know these days," Evey said, clearly relieved. "Um, I'd best get back to work before I get snapped at. Best of luck."

"Thanks," Dean said, nudging Alec to get him moving up the stairs again.

"Wait," Alec protested, nudging Dean back with a frown. He smiled at Evey though and motioned the way they were heading. "Do you know how many more floors we have? We haven't been paying attention as we came up."

"Three more flights," Evey said. "And it's the third door on your right. And be careful. It's awfully easy to get lost in the BTN and not everyone probably knows that you're to be on the news."

"We'll watch out," Alec assured her, grinning. "We're good at that. Thanks, miss."

"Evey," she corrects with a shy smile. "My name's Evey. Good meeting you. I look forward to your news broadcast."

Grin widening, he cocked his head slightly. "I'm Alec, this is Dean. Very nice meeting you too, Evey," he said warmly. "And if you like what you see, we might stick around a bit after."

He winked at her, then nudged Dean. "Come on, let's not be late."
