Criminal Justice [first period, Tuesday 11/14]

Students had been handwave alerted to the fact that the class would be held in the Danger Shop today, and so V was waiting for them when they all filed in.

"Good morning," V said as the simulation immediately placed them in the spacious, white lobby of a building. "Today, we'll be doing a tactical simulation. You and the partner you chose last week have a mission: to find the control room at the top of the tower. In it, there is a ticking device, which will have quite an impact on the entire city if you don't stop it. And no, the lifts aren't working. Your mission, young ones, is to make your way to the control room while dodging guards and personnel, and disengage the device using only your available resources, and to do so by the end of the period."

He tilted his head. "And for now, that means wits and no weapons, though you all do get maps of the building. Oh, and a final thing. The building is not empty. This is a business. The civilians haven't any idea what's going on, though, and you mustn't panic them. You may, however, ask them for assistance in such a way as to not alert them to the situation."

V clapped his hands once, and then retreated to fully start the simulation. He didn't want to be in it, if old friends showed up.

All of the hallways look just like the lobby - high ceilings, extremely minimalist, modern decoration, and brightly lit. There are people bustling about, all speaking in British accents.

"No. We need to find the stairs. Or an elevator," River suggested. "Or possibly an air shaft."

"Dure." Alanna said a lot clearer than she would have even a day ago. Not that she was still making 100% sense.

Jack leaned casually against a wall, smiling at the occasional passerby, while he waited for John.

Charlie waited for Teddy. X-Unit were on the case! Maybe. If they felt like it and there wasn't anything else interesting to do.

Teddy was far too cheerful when he walked over to Kawalsky. This was his third team now. He was beginning to feel like Wolverine. "Are we ready Major K!?"

"We're ready, Captain M!" Kawalsky looked around for a moment. "The elevators are out, so we're gonna have to use the stairs. Unless you can fly. I need a jetpack."

Aeryn's partner is apparently quite possibly dead at the moment, so she figures she's going this one alone. Trying to look like she's supposed to be there and knows where she's going, she heads to the end of the hall, where she figures the stairs are most likely to be.

A woman passed by, her heels clacking on the floor, and gave Aeryn a hard look. "Do you work for me?" she asked brusquely.

Aeryn doesn't miss a beat, replying, "Possibly. It's my first day." She might have learned a thing or two in spying class.

Luke approached a few seconds later, bouncing on the tips of his toes. "Just like the Death Star," he murmured, not looking entirely happy with the comparison.
