Umbridge High School Building, Saturday Evening

There were some clouds hanging around the spires of Umbridge High School, but not enough; there was an overlaying sense that there shouldn't be as much sunlight shining down on it as there was.

It was quiet. Kind of. There was tension in the air, a wound-up strung-up thing that ensnared the school. Somehow it seemed as if even the birds didn't want to touch down on the building itself, and the gates seemed to fold into themselves, even if they weren't quite shut.

And all that on a weekend, too.

Kaidan still wasn't sure what to think. Had been thinking about Shepard... a lot. Their last stand... Saren...

That didn't mean he wasn't going to be sharp standing guard out here near detention. Of course not. He did his duty.

Annie was here because she was supposed to be, but uh. She didn't look all that sure about it.

Because she wasn't. With that whole 'someone died in here' thing and the fact that there seemed to be a lot of people dying right now, Annie would pretty much rather be anywhere not here. Was there going to be fighting? She hoped there wasn't fighting. She wasn't that scrappy.

'Scrappy' was probably the wrong word but she kept telling herself that anyway.

Bruce had been sitting in his cot all night slowly realizing that whatever Raven had done to him wasn't complete. Underneath all the indifference she had laid out on top of him there were cracks in the emotional thrall she had put on him.

And Bruce was now pushing himself to see where he could break through one of those cracks.

The only time Tim came to detention was to put someone in it. But it looked like the fit was hitting the shan, and the people in here were the most dangerous on the island.

So this was where he would make his stand, crystalline, shiny magic sword in hand.

And of course the Madri was there. They looked smug and quite happy to give anyone a beating if they got out of line.

Bo didn't spend a lot of time down here unless she was taking someone in or pulling them out for special detention -- the kind you didn't tend to come back from -- but after this week, she felt obligated to put in an appearance. Especially after yesterday's fiasco with a supposed loyalist sucking the office-girl's face in the middle of the street, and Barton going arrow-happy before Bo could get anywhere near them.

Something was up, the air uneasy and full of the kind of lust that was more for action than bodies, but close enough for her senses to register it.

Outside, Kitty had made everyone hold hands, held her breath, and phased them through the building right along with her. Welcome to mutant powers, boys and girls.

When they got to what she was pretty sure their destination was, Kitty poked her head through the wall just to make sure she had the right place. When she saw she did, she stepped out through the wall with the others and let go of their hands, since allowing everyone to be able to touch things might be helpful.

"Anyone call for a rescue?"

That was...different. But effective. Isabel looked around the room, searching for familiar faces, all the while horrified by what she saw.

The others had rescuing and healing to do, but Leon had only one reason for coming with them today. He searched through the prisoners until he found her, and rushed to her side.

"Rinoa."

It was a sigh of relief. It was a plea of desperation. It was a declaration of triumph.

It was the first time he'd allowed himself to speak her name in years.

Bruce was in his corner. Trying to fight through the crack's that Raven had left behind.

And suddenly one of those cracks began to crumble.

And Bruce began to smile just a little bit as his eyes turned green.

Zayne had to finally stop repeating his mantra and look up when the breakout started.

"I guess it's time," he said, a little absently.

Detention's cracked, and the detentionees are pissed.

And there was one detentionee who was severely pissed.

The Raven's emotional thrall crumbled away and Bruce began to transform. The shirt ripped first. The shoes were next as he crumpled over into a ball and began to growl.

A moment later Bruce was gone and a Hulk was in his place.

Rising up to almost his full height he let a roar which shook the foundations of the castle.

It might be best not to get in his way.

The Madri formed a line and took firm stance at the detentionees.

"Get back to your corners!" they all shouted in unison. "Get. Back!"

[For anyone needing a moddable battle, please feel free to pounce on a Madri. They can die but hitting them will just make more.]

The important thing was that she was out. Or about to be.

K-Mart was half-holding her breath, half praying this wasn't a hallucination. She'd never hallucinated like that before, but there was always a first time for everything.

But there was only one way to find out, and so she took a step forward, ready to fight.

With the Hulk clearing a path, Zayne figured it would probably be a good idea to follow the path of destruction outside and be ready to try to help anyone who needed it.

It was weird. He was really used to being the one CAUSING property destruction.

The foundations cracked, and the walls began to crumble. And somewhere inside Rinoa ...

A wall, inside her head, built to keep her magic away. Emma had made it stop hurting so much. Emma had promised that her magic was only sleeping.

Out in the physical realm, She -- the Sorceress, Rinoa -- pushed to her feet just as wings began emerging from her back.

She was the Sorceress. She was whole. She was a being of raw power and vengeance. And she was no more stable than she had been a minute before. Less so, with the intoxicating head rush. She had no leash on her powers, or herself. She was.

And she was pissed.
