Umbridge High School Building, Saturday Evening

There were some clouds hanging around the spires of Umbridge High School, but not enough; there was an overlaying sense that there shouldn't be as much sunlight shining down on it as there was.

It was quiet. Kind of. There was tension in the air, a wound-up strung-up thing that ensnared the school. Somehow it seemed as if even the birds didn't want to touch down on the building itself, and the gates seemed to fold into themselves, even if they weren't quite shut.

And all that on a weekend, too.

And there was one detentionee who was severely pissed.

The Raven's emotional thrall crumbled away and Bruce began to transform. The shirt ripped first. The shoes were next as he crumpled over into a ball and began to growl.

A moment later Bruce was gone and a Hulk was in his place.

Rising up to almost his full height he let a roar which shook the foundations of the castle.

It might be best not to get in his way.

Most people would agree it was only common sense not to get in Hulk way.

Unfortunately for Lex, detention might have been cracked, but his imperio was holding strong, and common sense took a back seat to enforcing the rules.

April looked up from where she'd been carefully examining her fingernails. Blinked once.

"Cool."

Yep. That was it, Hulk. That was all you were going to get. 'Cool.'

Scent of Heather watched the transformation with fascination, and when the big green...troll? Ogre? Whatever roared, she began to laugh.

The Madri formed a line and took firm stance at the detentionees.

"Get back to your corners!" they all shouted in unison. "Get. Back!"

K-Mart was half-holding her breath, half praying this wasn't a hallucination. She'd never hallucinated like that before, but there was always a first time for everything.

With the Hulk clearing a path, Zayne figured it would probably be a good idea to follow the path of destruction outside and be ready to try to help anyone who needed it.

It was weird. He was really used to being the one CAUSING property destruction.

The foundations cracked, and the walls began to crumble. And somewhere inside Rinoa ...

A wall, inside her head, built to keep her magic away. Emma had made it stop hurting so much. Emma had promised that her magic was only sleeping.

Her magic was awake, now. The stone wall in her mind, covered now in dead flowers and rotting twigs, exploded.

Out in the physical realm, She -- the Sorceress, Rinoa -- pushed to her feet just as wings began emerging from her back.

She was the Sorceress. She was whole. She was a being of raw power and vengeance. And she was no more stable than she had been a minute before. Less so, with the intoxicating head rush. She had no leash on her powers, or herself. She was.

And she was pissed.

They weren't the only ones who were pissed.

"Stay where you belong!" Part of what kept Bo and her instincts on the narrow path between useless slavery and out of control power was order. Purpose. Keeping this island quiet and safe, for those values of safe that met with her boss' approval.

This was everything that wasn't order, wasn't safe. Wasn't in control. When the world wasn't in control, neither was Bo.

Hunger and the force to satisfy it crackled through her body, first just sucking at the ambient chi in the atmosphere from so many moving bodies, but soon enough, reaching out for more.

Liara didn't even realize how primed she had been for this until suddenly her prison was no more-- and then she was up, crackling with blue energy that needed somewhere to go.

Kaidan had drawn his side-arm the minute it became obvious something was going on here. He flung a blue burst of biotics into the crowd -- throw -- and yelled, "Just stay where you are!"

Bobby wasn't sensitive to magic, exactly, but when the spell broke, he could feel it- feel the awareness of every single molecule of moisture in the air return to him in a rush. It was like... like he'd been blind and deaf all this time and now his senses had returned to him fully. Water was everywhere and it was his to cool and manipulate once again. The ice he'd had to work so hard to keep under control for the past few years now spread out around him as he stood, Sookie's body still in his arms.

Oh, Kate had been waiting for this day. Pissed did not even begin to describe it. Finally, the tingle of magic was flowing over her skin once again, and despite being out of shape, and (still) lacking a sword, she was completely ready to kick some jailer ass. See how they liked a little bit of torture.

It might be best not to get in her way.

Fire. Fire and anger, after three years locked down in that hole. Jonothon was not a happy man, and the wall of flame that writhed around him almost with a mind of its own was testament to that fact.

If anyone got too close, he was going to blow them halfway to hell.

As it stood, he was blasting the detention roof down, piece by piece, as he ascertained that each area had been successfully evacuated. He was not going back down there again. And he'd make damn certain of that fact by making sure that there was no there to go back to.
