Umbridge High School Building, Saturday Evening

There were some clouds hanging around the spires of Umbridge High School, but not enough; there was an overlaying sense that there shouldn't be as much sunlight shining down on it as there was.

It was quiet. Kind of. There was tension in the air, a wound-up strung-up thing that ensnared the school. Somehow it seemed as if even the birds didn't want to touch down on the building itself, and the gates seemed to fold into themselves, even if they weren't quite shut.

And all that on a weekend, too.

The lawn laid here pristine and neatly trimmed, and entirely unknowing of its soon-to-be-trampled fate.

This would be the first hurdle on the way to the school. Maybe the loyalists hadn't noticed you yet, resistance...

The brain of Umbridge's empire - or at least the memory - was the library, stocked to the brim with books... and at this point, probably alerted loyalists.

Down below laid the target of tonight's assault: detention, with its guards and its many wards. Do you dare?

It looks like an ordinary school hallway, but somewhere in the middle of this row of lockers lies Locker 327... and the Detention Scroll.

For any other things going on in the school concurrently with everything else.

Loyalists, gather up to guard your books.

In comes a Batman...

After the library is secured.

Loyalists, gather like the storm. Or the rock that breaks the storm. One of those things.

Take it away, Kitty.

Detention's cracked, and the detentionees are pissed.

Lex didn't really spend that much time near detention, but here was where he'd been told to go, so here he stood.

Cassie was in the library, in a prime defensive spot, calling up the power within her. She would help protect this library and damned be the ones who tried to stop her.

Kaidan still wasn't sure what to think. Had been thinking about Shepard... a lot. Their last stand... Saren...

That didn't mean he wasn't going to be sharp standing guard out here near detention. Of course not. He did his duty.

Outside, Kitty had made everyone hold hands, held her breath, and phased them through the building right along with her. Welcome to mutant powers, boys and girls.

When they got to what she was pretty sure their destination was, Kitty poked her head through the wall just to make sure she had the right place. When she saw she did, she stepped out through the wall with the others and let go of their hands, since allowing everyone to be able to touch things might be helpful.

"Anyone call for a rescue?"

A distraction team (http://fandomhighdorms.livejournal.com/2226711.html) was trying to breach the hurdle with explosions. Almost as if they wanted to be noticed.

Annie was here because she was supposed to be, but uh. She didn't look all that sure about it.

Because she wasn't. With that whole 'someone died in here' thing and the fact that there seemed to be a lot of people dying right now, Annie would pretty much rather be anywhere not here. Was there going to be fighting? She hoped there wasn't fighting. She wasn't that scrappy.

'Scrappy' was probably the wrong word but she kept telling herself that anyway.

That was...different. But effective. Isabel looked around the room, searching for familiar faces, all the while horrified by what she saw.

The others had rescuing and healing to do, but Leon had only one reason for coming with them today. He searched through the prisoners until he found her, and rushed to her side.

"Rinoa."

It was a sigh of relief. It was a plea of desperation. It was a declaration of triumph.

It was the first time he'd allowed himself to speak her name in years.

In the ideal version of this assault, anyone working the library would be called down to assist with the detention raid. But this wasn't unexpected and it certainly wasn't a deterrent.

Through careful planning and determination, they had made it to the roof with short lengths of rope for their entrance. Because of course Bruce's plan involved a flashy entrance crashing through a window. Of course. He gave the signal to the team and swung down, making an entrance for anyone who didn't want to smash through glass themselves.

The assault had officially begun.

Well, this would mark the first time Ender had entered a building through the window.

He was a quick learner, though - after watching Bruce go for a few seconds, he swung in behind him through the glass. The landing was more familiar, and he hit the ground running.

They were in.

Not Bobby, who was totally fine to just stay right here, holding on to a corpse. You know, just like he'd been doing since Thursday.

Kitty hadn't been on island long, and didn't know most of the people in here. But there was at least one person who felt sort of obvious to her, for some crazy reason, and of course he was the one holding the dead body.

She came over and knelt by him, saying softly, "Bobby?"

This was really not very...Rory. Seriously. Like, this was some Stephen Seagal-level dramatic action movie stuff. In a way, she was fangirling, but more importantly, she was worried she was going to break something. Not the glass. Her neck.

But she couldn't turn back. Anakin would have wanted her to go through, and it was that thought that had her grabbing her rope and swinging in behind Bruce and Ender.

And besides, what would they do without her? She had all their water and granola bars.

Once she was in, Rory immediately rolled under cover. She wasn't a fighter -- she was defense, and she knew it. While she had a gun, her primary goal was to start securing the library while the others fended off anything they might have swung into.
