Umbridge High School Building, Saturday Evening
There were some clouds hanging around the spires of Umbridge High School, but not enough; there was an overlaying sense that there shouldn't be as much sunlight shining down on it as there was.
It was quiet. Kind of. There was tension in the air, a wound-up strung-up thing that ensnared the school. Somehow it seemed as if even the birds didn't want to touch down on the building itself, and the gates seemed to fold into themselves, even if they weren't quite shut.
And all that on a weekend, too.
[[wait for the ocd up! ]]

Hallway Full of Lockers
Main Office - Just Down The Hall From the Lockers
Her eyes were still red -- her eyes were always red -- but anyone who'd met her during her time working for Umbridge would notice that today, they were a thousand times less cloudy. And she had a mission.
Momoko wasn't sure how this would all end, today, but she had a back-up plan. Besides leaving, that is, which is what she was going to do as soon as she was done here. That was what Priestly had wanted, and now, well, she had no reason to stay.
She walked to the file cabinets lining the wall, pulling out reports and forms and throwing them to the floor. She'd worked in administration long enough to know the value of them; if these papers didn't make it to the right people, there would be chaos. The Board would get concerned. Inspections would happen... It wasn't much, and it would be slow, but it was something she could do. A start. Or a finish, maybe?
She moved to another cabinet, then the desks. Everything had to go. Sorry Ida, sorry everyone. But this was right.
When she was done, she reached into her pocket for the matches.
Re: Main Office - Just Down The Hall From the Lockers
As soon as Karla saw her friend in the office, she stopped in her tracks. Momoko. She...couldn't face the other female now. Not after what happened to Priestly. Not after the last things she said to Priestly. Not while knowing that Momoko could still be Imperio'd.
"That's Momoko," Karla said a little louder. "She works in the office. If there's anything to be found in there, she'll probably know where it is. You might have to trick her though--I have no idea where her loyalties are right now."
Re: Main Office - Just Down The Hall From the Lockers
"Okay," she said. "So we tell her we're pro-Umbridge, and if she's not, then we tell her we're pro-Resistance and she saw right through our cover. I mean, everyone's been pretending to be loyal anyway, right?"
Or they could make up something completely insane. That was her usual MO.

"Gimmie a second, I'll clean my face."
The kohl was not exactly to the dress code. So, spitting into the corner of his shirt and then trying to scrub it off was going to be his modus operandi for a moment, here.
Re: Main Office - Just Down The Hall From the Lockers
Oh, Frank. So useful at complicating other people's plans. IT WAS A SKILL.
Re: Main Office - Just Down The Hall From the Lockers
"She is no longer controlled," Ikol informed them in a deep voice that one might believe Loki would grow into with time. He sat perched on a locker, giving them all a deeply disappointed look.
Re: Main Office - Just Down The Hall From the Lockers
Though Sparkle now looked more raccoon-eyed than even before, so he might be a little huffy about the wait.
"You lot go in. I...should go make sure the protections on the locker haven't been changed any. I would hate for us to go through all this trouble and then find that it's for nothing."
That was an awesome excuse for not going in! Much better than 'I don't know if I can face Momoko yet, thanks.'

Locker 327
Re: Locker 327
Sadly, there was still no way for her Craft to get at whatever was in there, either. Hopefully, they'd be able to get the combination out of Momoko, then. And soon. They didn't have all that long before Kitty made her move.
Re: Locker 327
".... okay, uh, the bird has it, anyway," she said.
She couldn't believe the office lady had trusted it to the bird.
Re: Locker 327
Ikol fluttered overhead, letting the paper fall above them once he reached Karla. "Children," he said. Because that answered everything.
Re: Locker 327
... There was no X.
Re: Locker 327
"Is that a piece of paper?"
SERIOUSLY, UMBRIDGE? THAT WAS YOUR DEFENSE SYSTEM?

Or she could yesterday (http://fandomtownies.livejournal.com/6503847.html?thread=247148711#t247148711).
Today? She was curled up in the school hallway, hoping no one would find her. Everyone was busy elsewhere, so it was better if she just stayed out of the way. She couldn't help anymore.
She couldn't do anything.

"Rapunzel?"
Re: Hallway Full of Lockers
Then she froze, eyes widening.
And then she scrabbled, feet sliding against the floor as she tried to get away. But she sitting against the wall, so she didn't get anywhere, despite her desperation.

And she didn't stop scrambling. Even if her desperation did ease ever so slightly when Karla stopped coming closer.

Only what she saw was worse.
Someone was injured. Badly injured. And she couldn't do anything about it.

"I can't help," she said softly, sniffling again. "Not anymore."
