Umbridge High School Building, Saturday Evening
There were some clouds hanging around the spires of Umbridge High School, but not enough; there was an overlaying sense that there shouldn't be as much sunlight shining down on it as there was.
It was quiet. Kind of. There was tension in the air, a wound-up strung-up thing that ensnared the school. Somehow it seemed as if even the birds didn't want to touch down on the building itself, and the gates seemed to fold into themselves, even if they weren't quite shut.
And all that on a weekend, too.
[[wait for the ocd up! ]]

Re: Main Office - Just Down The Hall From the Lockers
"She is no longer controlled," Ikol informed them in a deep voice that one might believe Loki would grow into with time. He sat perched on a locker, giving them all a deeply disappointed look.

Though Sparkle now looked more raccoon-eyed than even before, so he might be a little huffy about the wait.
"You lot go in. I...should go make sure the protections on the locker haven't been changed any. I would hate for us to go through all this trouble and then find that it's for nothing."
That was an awesome excuse for not going in! Much better than 'I don't know if I can face Momoko yet, thanks.'

Besides the obvious drawbacks like possibly getting everyone killed, but, well. Maeby had been allowed to play with C4 this morning, and she still had all her fingers. Clearly, someone upstairs liked her.
"Let's do that," she said, turning on her heel and walking into the office. Which was ... kind of crazy looking.
Oh! It was that girl in the office, what's-her-face. Maeby hadn't been paying attention to this part of the plan, but they'd clashed a few times over regulation this-and-that. Right. And she wasn't controlled any more, anyway.
"Excuse me?" Maeby asked. "Hi! We're with the inspection crew, we were sent down here to get some information. Do you have a second?"
She went for Chirpy, but Busy as a tone of voice.

She turned back to the pile of burning papers on the floor. "Go back to the dorms." Where it's safe! Please!

Like a solemn raccoon.
"We're here on orders. Locker inspection, actually. Very important, to make sure certain lockers are up to code, you know."
Sparkle was completely full of crap. Especially since they knew that she wasn't under Imperio right now. But this just seemed like a way more fun way to get the information they needed.

Naturally.
"If you wouldn't mind letting us know the combination?"
Re: Main Office - Just Down The Hall From the Lockers
"Lockers were inspected last month, painted last week, and you don't work for the school or I'd have your name and photograph on file. You really should wash your face you know?" She reached over and held out a packet of towelettes from the desk she was raiding.
"And Mr Abignale, disappearances such as that can be filed with the security office on Monday! You all should be at home, right now!"

Some people were no fun.

She stepped to her desk and grabbed a post-it note (http://www.thestationerystudio.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/catalog.viewProduct/productID/30647/catId/2294/Kitty%20Sticky%20Note%20Cube.html) and a pen. "42-36-40. Be careful. If you have trouble, come back and get me."
She ripped the post-it note off the pad and held it out. To the bird.
