Umbridge High School Building, Saturday Evening

There were some clouds hanging around the spires of Umbridge High School, but not enough; there was an overlaying sense that there shouldn't be as much sunlight shining down on it as there was.

It was quiet. Kind of. There was tension in the air, a wound-up strung-up thing that ensnared the school. Somehow it seemed as if even the birds didn't want to touch down on the building itself, and the gates seemed to fold into themselves, even if they weren't quite shut.

And all that on a weekend, too.

Fire. Fire and anger, after three years locked down in that hole. Jonothon was not a happy man, and the wall of flame that writhed around him almost with a mind of its own was testament to that fact.

If anyone got too close, he was going to blow them halfway to hell.

As it stood, he was blasting the detention roof down, piece by piece, as he ascertained that each area had been successfully evacuated. He was not going back down there again. And he'd make damn certain of that fact by making sure that there was no there to go back to.

*Jono!* Karla sent on a psychic thread. She was standing outside of Locker 327 with the remains of the roster burning merrily away. *Folks in Detention should be able to use their powers now! You good? Kitty there?!*

//We're a little occupied,// Jono shot back, confident his voice would carry. //Bruce went Hulk, and he's currently powdering th'bones of anyone who gets in his way. Kitty was somewhere around here, so far as I know she's trying to herd the wounded and insane.//

*Good,* Karla sent, mental voice grim with satisfaction. *How do you think about the way I keep my promises, hmmm?*

//If I didn't still want to punch you, I'd probably wish I could kiss you,// Jonothon admitted. Grudgingly. While taking out another large piece of ceiling with a blast of fire. //Drinks are on me, after this.//

*Glad to know I'm still on the 'punch first' list,* Karla sent, trying not to sound glum. *But...that reminds me. Can you contact everyone in Detention with you right now? At least, the Resistance folks? I'd prefer if people didn't think I was still a Loyalist and tried to kill me, thanks much.*

//I can give it my best attempt, I suppose. People are a bit distracted, all things considered...//

He glanced up from what he was doing and watched Hulk... smash.

//But I'll see what I can do without throwing anybody off.//

*Much obliged,* Karla sent back. *I'd prefer to be around to drink that drink you promised. Kiss kiss.*

And she vanished from his mind.
