Umbridge High School Building, Saturday Evening

There were some clouds hanging around the spires of Umbridge High School, but not enough; there was an overlaying sense that there shouldn't be as much sunlight shining down on it as there was.

It was quiet. Kind of. There was tension in the air, a wound-up strung-up thing that ensnared the school. Somehow it seemed as if even the birds didn't want to touch down on the building itself, and the gates seemed to fold into themselves, even if they weren't quite shut.

And all that on a weekend, too.

Dinah was reaching for her TK, and she could feel it starting to respond.

"LET'S GO!"

Sam had ducked and covered when the noises had started, but Dinah looked... stronger now, somehow. "Dinah? What's happening?"

Dinah turned around and beamed at Sam. "We're getting the hell out of here. And I am kicking every ass that gets between me and the exit."

Sam looked around, and broke into a smile. "We can go? Together?" he asked, standing up.

"I'll have your back, if you'll have mine?" Dinah grabbed his hand, and bounced up, just liked she used to ages ago, and gave him a quick kiss.

Sam grinned and kissed her back softly. "Of course I'll have your back," he said, taking her hand. "Come on, let's get out of here."

It wasn't exactly a first date. It was better.

"I don't think so," Kerrigan snarled, knife out and ready.

"You don't think at all." Dinah gave her a fierce smile, starting to circle the ohter woman. Reached with her mind, tugging at the knife.

Kerrigan tugged back just as hard, yanking on Dinah's arm with her mind. "Sit and be a good girl."

Ha. Dinah sent a massive TK shove at Kerrigan's legs, with a simultaneous kick. "Are you a zombie, or a Nazi?"

Kerrigan staggered backwards as she only managed to catch one of both attacks. It took her a moment to regain her footing.

Then she kicked out at Dinah's head.

"Nnngh. Ow." That had Dinah spinning into a wall, then turning around, teeth bared. Another yank, even stronger, on that knife. "How many people have you killed for her?" And a blast of TK at the floor beneath Kerrigan, or an attempt at it, anyway.

"Does it matter?" Kerrigan asked, leaping back as she felt that one coming a few seconds before it happened. "I've killed enough people for enough masters."

"It matters. To me, if not to you." Power was still rising in Dinah, she could feel it. Another telekinetic blast, aimed at Kerrigan's face. "I could kill you now, if I didn't care about the ceiling. Or anyone else here."

Kerrigan hit the ground this time, silently cursing Dinah's teek powers. "I had been trying to keep you in one piece," she snarled, reaching for her gun.

Dinah's eyes widened, and she dove to the side, a diffuse blast of TK aimed at Kerrigan's gun as she ran for cover around a doorway.

Kerrigan fought back against that TK, and as diffuse as it was, she could block it.

She fired a couple of rounds into the doorway. "Come out, little girl!"

Dinah crouched down, then concentrated hard on Kerrigan's feet from the angle she could aim for, hoping to push her off balance.

"Put the gun down and fight me!" Ahahaha of course she wouldn't. But it gave Dinah time to think of something else.

Like looking out for a second. Then aiming a TK jab for the knife.

Kerrigan took a step back and braced herself against the table.

She took aim for Dinah again-- and then her knife went soaring off into the distance.

"Yes!" Dinah punched the air, then looked out, risking getting shot in order to get eyes on the knife, and yank it to her, hilt-first. "Who brings a knife to a gunfight?" she taunted. "Or weapons at all. Can't rely on your powers? I mean, you did buckle under to Umbitch..."

Sorry, Dinah, but you were going to get a bullet aimed for your foot for that.

A cut-off scream as Dinah clutched her leg, biting down on the pain as hard as she could. Whoever said you didn't feel it at first lied. "Shit shit shit..." C'mon, Dinah. Use this.

Pain and rage fueled her next strike: to pull Kerrigan forward, closer, off-balance. Within range for one good knife-throw.

Kerrigan's head slammed against the ground as she fell. She groaned, groping around, trying to get free--

And hammered the stealth button on her suit with her mind, her body going completely invisible.

"No!" Dinah shrieked in rage, throwing the knife at the last place she'd seen Kerrigan, but keeping her telekinetic grip on it so she could yank it back for another try if she missed. "No, no, no, no!"
