Dru's Classroom: the formation of a new club

After his meeting with Grissom, Angelus made his way to Dru's classroom. He smiled. She'd left it for him to open, just as she'd promised.

He opened the door, switched on the lights, searched Dru's supplies for some poster board, then got to work.

It was going to be a long day.

Shortly thereafter, Duce walks in. She's carrying her knapsack and a 3-ring binder with what looks like org charts. "You," she greets Angelus, "are insane. The deadline's tomorrow?"

"Deadline for the event," Angelus said. He made a sound of frustration and crossed out the poster he'd been working on. He abandoned pen and paper and turned his attention to the chalk board, which made for easier rough drafts. "We can do more. I got permission from Bristow for posters and ads and getting info out there. But if we want to do anything that works as an addition to the debates we can't do it during other main events and we have to do it before the actual election. That means tomorrow night."

Logan passes Dru's classroom and spots Angelus inside. He raps on the doorframe with his knuckles. "Hey," he says. "How many people are you expecting at this thing?"

"No fucking clue," Angelus admitted. He gave Logan a grateful look. "Thanks for showing. I take it you got my message?"

"Fabulous," Angelus gave her a big and welcoming grin. "Were you able to talk to the rest of your party?"

Anakin popped his head into the classroom. "Saw your poster coming out of Goverments class. Point me where you need me."

"Glad you're here," Angelus said. "We need a hand with everything. Don't suppose you've got a specialty?"

Phoebe took a deep breath and then entered the classroom. She walked up to Angelus.

"May I have a word with you?"

Angelus blinked in surprise to see her. He put his things down and motioned towards an empty set of desks in the classroom. "By all means. Step into what's passing for my office."

Rory tentatively steps inside the classroom. She hadn't been there before, and had experienced some trouble finding it.

She's also more than a little nervous, but determined not to let it show.

"Rory," Angelus gave her a welcoming smile. "I'm really glad you could make it. I was hoping you'd show."

"The more the merrier," Angelus said. "We need publicity, we need ideas, we need hands, we need - " he paused, looking around. "Okay, at what point did my retarded brain not think to bring in a coffee machine?"

Having seen the poster, Beka headed directly to Drusilla's classroom. She'd promised Angelus her help, and she had every intention of delivering.

"I'm here. What's to do?"

"Everything," Angelus said. He frowned. "You're in tonight's debate, right?"

Anakin sat down in a corner of the room, a pad of paper in front of him and an attentive look on his face. Occassionally he would scribble something down.

In front of him was a box that he had taped a sign onto. It read: "Submit Candidate Questions Here."

When he finally had a free moment, Angelus sat down beside him.

"Okay," he said, with no other preamble, "my guess is tonight they're not actually going to let us ask things like 'So what makes you so damned special?'"

Marty walks in looking chipper. "Hey there Angelus. Heard you were throwing a little non-partisan political shindig for everybody."

"Glad to see a group of students bring everything back to the real issues instead of pretty posters of females hanging everywhere. I mean honestly, Promises for Jell-O wrestling? While I admit that's a fun concept, how is that going to bring the entire school community together as a cohesive whole?"

"Marty," Angelus took the folder and placed it carefully with his things. "Fabulous. I'm really glad you came. I know we've got to walk a fine line here so it doesn't look like any one ticket is influencing this event, but as soon as I thought of this I knew your big brain would be a huge advantage."

Lisa walks into the classroom, her head held high, but her nervousness evident in her tight smile.

"Hi, healthy turn-out I see. I brought coffee for everyone. You sounded kind of burnt-out on the phone."

Angelus beamed at her when he saw her, putting his things down so he could help her with the coffee. "Okay, you do stuff like that and you make it really hard for me to play hard to get."
