Dru's Classroom: the formation of a new club

After his meeting with Grissom, Angelus made his way to Dru's classroom. He smiled. She'd left it for him to open, just as she'd promised.

He opened the door, switched on the lights, searched Dru's supplies for some poster board, then got to work.

It was going to be a long day.

"Tell me about it," Angelus said. "Where have Hugo Boss and Helmut Lang been all my unlife?"

Alanna blinked. "Who and who?"

"Fashion des - uh, people who tell other people what clothes should look like," Angelus frowned, curiously. "Wow. So huge culture shock for you here, huh?"

Alanna grinned. "That's one way to put it. Girls, who are not me, in pants." She gestures to the clothes Angelus is wearing. "Things like that. Television."

Angelus looked around to make sure no one was eavesdropping, then leaned in and whispered conspiratorially, "I had a hard time figuring out how they got the little minstrels into the radio."

Iz dead. Again.

Alanna shook her head. "I've just settled for the 'If it works, fine, just don't tell me how' frame of mind. The people inside the box aren't real? Okay, but they act funny so it's enjoyable anyway!" She whispers back. "Radios scare me a bit, though."

"Most days I figure a wizard did it," Angelus said. "If it works and I don't understand how: magic. Makes my life simplier."

Alanna shakes her head and holds her palm out. A small purple ball of fire forms there and quickly leaves. "That's magic. Little people are there because they're there. I am not going into the area of how they got there. Though, I have been reading a lot about medicine, that's usueful. And I agree on the simpler. We should form a club. The "People who are not quite from this era and have no idea how most technology works" Club."

Angelus blinked at the ball of fire. "What was that?"

Alanna shrugged. "I told you, I'm Gifted. It's kind of like magic, that's one of the signs someone is. I'm a Healer mostly, though."

"What's it do?" Angelus asked.

"You mean the fire? Or just the Gift in general?"

"I originally meant the former but now I'm curious about both," Angelus said, giving her his full attention. "If you don't mind, of course."

I play dumb, it makes more dangerous. Thom's voice rang loud and clear through Alanna's mind, she ignored it. "Well, the fire is mostly for light, it doesn't do much else. It's mostly a sign that someone is Gifted. My own Gift is tuned towards healing, but I can do some battle magic as well. And some other random spells. Why so curious? What can you do?"

"Nothing showy," Angelus shrugged. "Speed, strength - all more than a human's. But I didn't get any pocket torches to come with it as a sign."

Alanna shrugged. "It's nothing that useful, I'm not a big fan of the cold, so I think it helps me more than the rest. Good speed and strenght are both very useful."

"Won't say they don't come in handy," Angelus said. "Though around here sometimes simply having them seems to be reason enough for people to get me in trouble. Apparently they like myth more than fact."

Alanna shrugged. "If you don't hurt me or anyone I know, I won't hurt you. Got me this far in life. Plus, I like having my sword on my hip, keeps things easy. And the sword from going balistic and summoning a storm or something."

Angelus quirked an eyebrow. "The sword's alive?"

"Alive enough."

"Funnily enough not the strangest thing I've seen in my unlife," Angelus thought about it. "What do you feed it?"

Alanna blinked at Angelus, then glanced down at her sword. "Er, I clean it weekly. It hasn't asked to be fed. Ever."

"Really?" Angelus sounded geniunely surprised. "I would've thought blood. Or maybe fire."

Alanna thought about it for a moment. "He only got blood during the War with Tusaine. And fire when I first got him. He's just a regular sword usually."

((Ooc: I may be totally insane tomorrow, more RL club fun, and a college prep meeting. But yeah, continuing later.))
