Dru's Classroom: the formation of a new club

After his meeting with Grissom, Angelus made his way to Dru's classroom. He smiled. She'd left it for him to open, just as she'd promised.

He opened the door, switched on the lights, searched Dru's supplies for some poster board, then got to work.

It was going to be a long day.

Phoebe nodded and followed him.

"Look, I realize that you don't trust me because I'm on Parker's ticket. I can respect that. However, I had no hand in that video smearing Belthazor. I want to win the presidency, but not like that, and definitely NOT by trying to smear someone I honestly care about."

Angelus watched her carefully. "That video... was pretty ugly. Certainly not something that I'd consider presidential material."

Phoebe is being completely honest and it's obvious that she's angered and disgusted by the video. "As I said, I had nothing to do with that. With everything that has happened, if there was time I'd be pretty damned tempted o put together another ticket. However, there isn't. What was done to Belthazor wasn't right and I've been very public with my stance on it."

"I'm officially non-partisan," Angelus said. "Which is easy since I've got friends running on all of the tickets. But seems to me it's never too late to jump from a sinking ship. At least provided you get off before it takes you down with it."

Phoebe sighs. "Yeah, well, if I'm not on one of the tickets, then I cannot take part in the debates I think the more exposure I get, the better. Also, since I had already planned on voting for Belthazor before the tape, what was done just proves I was making the right decision."

"Sounds like tomorrow night's going to be just the thing then," Angelus said. "Non-debate event. Say a little speech, answer some questions, let the students get to know the real you."

"It sounds like this is a very good idea, Angelus."

"I just want the students of Fandom High to know who they're voting for," Angelus said. "Can I count on you to come then?"

"I'll definitely be there." Phoebe smiled. "Most of my ticket won't, but I will be."

"I could ask for nothing more," Angelus said. "Well, that and for you to mention it to as many students as you can. We're hitting the ground late in the game. Any publicity for tomorrow night is good publicity at this point."

Phoebe nodded. "I'll spread the word about it, Angelus. Something like this is a very good idea."

"Thanks," Angelus looked at her curiously. "Do you want me to tell Bel you stopped by?"

Phoebe shook her head. "I don't think he wants anything to do with me after what was pulled on him. That you know I came is enough."

Angelus mimed zipping his lips. "Mum's the word then. Promise."

Beka caught Phoebe and Angelus on the way out to publicize and overhears the not being able to debate if she's not on a ticket. "Angelus, looks like I won't be able to debate then. Unless you want to temporarily put me on JA's ticket."

To Phoebe, she nodded, and said, "Wait up. We can publicize together. It'll look good for you to be reaching across the 'aisle' as it were to someone Parker's shunning. And we really should talk about another slate."

"Not sure we can since we've already got a lot of slots covered," Angelus said. "But you could always come up with a new name, right?"

Phoebe nodded at Beka. "It's a plan."

"Great. I think this is a good idea anyhow. It'll help bust open the mystique around the tickets and show the candidates as individuals. Any thoughts on a short way to say that?" She smiled.

Phoebe grinned.

"Fuck the tickets?"

"I could kiss you. That's perfect. Time to wander the halls?"




(OOC: A dorms post for them to wander in? *g* This is very fun. I might try to put together a slate of time-travel types just for the hell of it. Hee.)

"I'll talk to Phoebe here. Unless we pull something together, I may run as independent or gracefully bow out and become useful behind the scenes. It'll depend." She gives him arch look that suggests what it depends on is how it serves their common goals. "Let me know if you have an opinion on the subject and I'll consider it."
