Dru's Classroom: the formation of a new club

After his meeting with Grissom, Angelus made his way to Dru's classroom. He smiled. She'd left it for him to open, just as she'd promised.

He opened the door, switched on the lights, searched Dru's supplies for some poster board, then got to work.

It was going to be a long day.

Angelus beamed at her when he saw her, putting his things down so he could help her with the coffee. "Okay, you do stuff like that and you make it really hard for me to play hard to get."

"Is that what that was? I told you to stop reading The Rules (http://www.therulesbook.com/), I am not that kind of girl."

She smirked, grateful that he took the coffee off her hands. She streched her arms and wrists a bit.

"I saw your flyers all over campus on the way over, very nice. What can I do, besides play serving wench that is?"

"Advise?" Angelus motioned for her to take a seat. "You were once running, you were on the inside. I know nothing about politics other than I think we should have more from the candidates than we're currently getting. Got any ideas?"

"What format have you decided on? That's probably the most important step."

"That and a name," Angelus grinned. "I have a club with no name. I'd make a song about it but that guy with the horse might sue for copyright infringement."

"Well, it does feel good to be out of the rain," she smirked. "Hmmm... a name. Maybe some sort of Alliance or Coalition? I've always liked clever acronyms but suck at them.

Student Alliance For Education, Tolerance, and... Yams?
Federation Against Intolerance and Rage?
Under Neath Individuals are Totally... Yammy?

Coalition for Understanding Non-humans and Testosterone is probably a big no-no."

"You know I can get snacks if you're hungry," Angelus grinned. "Or just really jonesing for Thanksgiving."

"I get a little stuck on the Y, okay? But I wouldn't put it past you to try and put me into a turkey coma just so you could your way with me." She gave him a wide grin, and moved on.

"Seriously though, you may want to use a strong word in the name - Diversity, Equity, Unity, that kind of thing. People react well to those type of terms."

"I was thinking something about Voice," Angelus took a sip of his coffee. "The idea started because I thought the non-human students didn't really have a voice in this election. Plus the write-ins had no voice at all since they can't be on stage at the debate."

"You're a regular Chomsky, Angelus. I like that, using Voice. Evocative without being embarassing. Have you heard back from a lot of the candidates?"

"I was thinking empowering but I like evocative. Sounds sexy. Bit like a perfume ad," he grinned. "Actually yeah. I'm surprised. But in a good way. It's nice to know that people care."

"I think you'll find most people care, they just need to be lead a bit. You could have a future in politics."

"I say nice things about you and that's how you repay me," Angelus said, nudging her arm with his elbow. "Insults."

"Me?" Lisa gives him a doe-eyed stare. "Miss Innocent? Surely you jest."

"I can see your relucatance to run for office though, I can't even follow all the back-stabbings. I think I'm glad I got out when I did. What's your take on everything that's going on?"

"Backstabbings sounds about right," Angelus said. "Attack ad on Bel, then candidates turning on their campaign manager. I can't tell if it's politics as usual or all part of a ploy."

"I'm sorry... but this is elections for Student Council right? I'm just checking, because people are acting like control of the universe is on the line, and I'm pretty sure it's actually just for the first spot in the graduation line and something to pad a college application. Or am I really missing something?"

"I've been wondering the same thing," Angelus said. "Not that I don't think people shouldn't earn the title if they want it, but sheesh."

"Oh yeah, you can do good things with the positions, but I just get the feeling there is stuff going on and I don't know what it is, and that tends to piss me off. What are you thinking, your friends with Bel I take it? Anyone else worth supporting? I'm voting for my roommate Alanna, but other than that I can be easily convinced..." she laughs, wiggling her eyebrows.

"Bel and I are close but he doesn't really want the job," Angelus said. "He only got in it to help motivate everybody else. I like Draco, though. He's been doing his homework, and he doesn't have the racist problems that some of the other students do."
