Dru's Classroom: the formation of a new club

After his meeting with Grissom, Angelus made his way to Dru's classroom. He smiled. She'd left it for him to open, just as she'd promised.

He opened the door, switched on the lights, searched Dru's supplies for some poster board, then got to work.

It was going to be a long day.

"I leave it up to you," Angelus lowered his voice so only Logan could hear. "Here's the thing: I'd be lying if I said my motivations here weren't in part due to that less than friendly attack on my buddy Bel yesterday. That campaign ad was racist bullshit and we all know it.

"Now then," Angelus continued, "I am a vamp who believes very strongly in protecting my friends. That includes Bel, but that also includes you. So, by extention, this is what I can do for Rory. I am sure that she had absolutely nothing to do with the making of that ad which anybody with two braincells could figure out was done by somebody on the staff of The Hottest Ticket.

"Obviously Rory can't turn her back on her entire political party. However I, as a non-partisan, can make it very clear to any student who wants to know that unlike some people Rory is one of the few candidates who actually cares about every student at Fandom High. If anybody tries to tear her down personally for the anti-human smear campaign, they can deal with me."

Logan considers. "This is the thing," he says. "Rory's the kind of girl that when she sees rabid giant space weasels, she thinks that putting away weapons and trying to negotiate is a pretty good idea. Might be better if she didn't know too many details. Plausible deniability and all that."

"Totally fine by me," Angelus said. "Heck, it even works in our favor. Further proof that she's not the kind of girl who would put up with those tactics if she was aware of them."

Logan nods. "Excellent. You need anything from me, besides location and refreshments?"

"Spread the word?" Angelus asked. "I'll do what I can with posters and the radio, but with short notice we'll need all the buzz we can get. Tomorrow night, your place, meet and greet the candidates and really get to know them."

Logan nods, and stands up. "Sounds like a plan," he says, and offers up a fist for a fist bop.

Angelus returns the gesture. "Appreciate it, Logan. I mean that."

"Catch you later," he says, and leaves the classroom.

"Oh, and Logan," Angelus called after him. "Keep the food away from the staging area. Otherwise we're probably going to get wackiness with cream pies."
