Welcome Party for the Summer Students and Staff

Despite the slightly overcast sky, the weather is still good for welcoming all of the new arrivals for the Fandom High summer session. The graduation decorations (and gremlin debris) have been cleared from the front lawn, and replaced with tables of information packets, food, and drinks. A series of signs point the students to the information table first, where they can pick up their room assignments from the office drones, and then continue on to the food tables to mingle.

And no, there are no inflatable gremlins around today. It's far too early to start scaring the new folks. That's what the mingling section is for!

[OOC: All right folks, have at it!]

Pick Up Room Assignments

The office folks? Do not exactly look happy to be out here.

[Feel free to handwave getting your stuff here.]

Willow snagged every piece of paperwork that the office folks had to offer. Possibly a lot more than she needed. She immediately started marking her info packet with highlighters.

Z picked up her information packets and hoped they would make all of this make a modicum more sense. Then she saw that her new room was on the third floor. Great. Well, it wasn't that far to haul a duffel bag.

Dawn dragged her suitcase in, tripping over something on her way over. She picked up her packet and paged through it. "Third floor's not so bad. Sam Winchester? I hope she's nice..."

Shawn took the packet that were thrust at him by a rather testy looking man, thanked him and started digging into it to see if he could work out what to do with it all. He wasn't a big fan of paperwork.

Peter picked up his information packet and started looking through it.

"Room 513...who would name his son Ainsley?" he muttered under his breath as he followed the queue further into the room.

To say that Gwynn was feeling a bit lost and overwhelmed with everything would have been an understatement. She was willing to bet a month's chores of milking the monastery's cows that her father had had no idea where he was sending her or what kind of place this was. Some of the people were dressed so strangely.

She wondered if her coach had been raided by a bunch of wizards and that's why she was in this strange place?

She looked asround, and sure enough, she saw the words "Fandom High" and that's where her father said she was being sent to.

She picked up the paperwork they were directing her to and frowned in confusion.

Tyler poked through the paperwork until he found his room number. "What the hell kind of name is X5-494?" he wondered aloud.

"Peter Parker," Greg read off the packet. "Guess old Mom and Dad were into alliteration, huh."

He sighed as he noticed the number, and slung his duffle a little more securely over his shoulder. Not that far to walk, really. He grinned suddenly as he realized that things could be dropped from third story windows. Like water balloons.

In the interest of science, of course.

Peter walked around in circles for a few minutes, looking for his roommate. He was having a bi too much fun running around saying "Ranma! Ranma! Ranma!"

Miles came in and eyed the mill of students around him. If he was very, very lucky, there would be at least one person at this school who didn't loom over him. However, he hoped it wouldn't be his roommate, because having someone around who could reach the top shelves was handy.

"407," he muttered, looking at his paperwork.

Zack still casting an occasional glare at the school, picked up his assignment. "Macbeth? Who calls their kid Macbeth?"

"N. Santos. Huh. Nathaniel? Norman? Nike? Nostradamus?" he thought to himself.

Cedric arrives from the sky. The portkey (a rather battered suitcase) trip wasn't something unusual but the location he arrived in was.

Nothing like Hogwarts. No Hogsmeade. No quidditch.

Shaking his head and putting his broom over his shoulder, Cedric shuffles up to the table, grabbing his room assignment.

Dean Winchester. Looking around, Cedric walks off in an attempt to find this Dean Winchester and, possibly, some food.

Kaylee cheerfully picked up her information packet and looked for her room number and roommate's name. "Hermione?"

She looked around, realizing just how different this place was compared to Serenity.

Joxer blinks a few times as he attempts his room assignment.

"Maah... Maaahx. Goo. Goo-vah. Goo-vahr-uh." He looks around. "Hey, Max? You around here somewhere?"

Max is a good manly name, isn't it?

So far soo good....

Somehow Shiro had managed to find this office place. It wasn't too hard since a whole group of humans carrying various peices of luggage had already gathered there. Looked as if they were getting papers of somesort.

Finaly, maybe he'd get some answeres as to where the hell he was supposed to be.

He scanned the info packet as it was handed to him. His ear flicked under his cap. "516" he said aloud in an attempt to commit the number to memory. "Hai...Nani? Who the hell is James??"

With Bruiser tucked in her bag, his little head poking out so he can look at the world through the rose colored sunglasses that match her own, Elle walks up to the table to get her packet and assignment that Serena told her would be waiting.

It takes mere moments to realize something's missing.

"There's no social calender in here. How do I know where all the mixers and parties are?" she asked with a little pout.

Xander picked up his new first floor room assignment, glancing at the rest of the graduated seniors' names -- glad that if he had to have a new room, it was at least a single, and that his neighbors were all people he liked -- but figuring it wouldn't really be worth the trouble to check out which new person he didn't know yet was rooming with which other new person he didn't know yet.

Hermione stops in to get her paperwork, and looks around to see where the crowd might be going. Maybe that'll tell her where to go.

Finding no hat waiting to asses her merits, Luna wandered up to the table in a leisurely fashion. Her hands flitted here, there, and all over picking up all the necessary forms, which she then rolled up and stuffed into her robe pocket.

Only one roommate, a Setsuna Sakurazaki, and a room with a number, four hundred twelve (to be precise)? This place was already different. She tucked an errant bit of hair behind her ear and looked over the crowd. Perhaps it would be possible to find her new roommate in this pleasantly chaotic group.

Demyx was completely and UTTERLY lost. This was not in the slightest bit like anything he was used to, and he clung to his sitar like it was a security blanket. Nobody was intimidated by him, or even seemed to acknolwedge he was there. "Am I dead?" he asked allowed, following the line of people to the table of paperwork.

He told them his name when they asked, stuttering a little, and received a packet in return. Sufficiently boggled, Demyx moved out of the way to look through the packet. "...Is this hell?" he asked in a small voice, reading the rooming assignments and trying to figure out what was going on.
