Welcome Party for the Summer Students and Staff

Despite the slightly overcast sky, the weather is still good for welcoming all of the new arrivals for the Fandom High summer session. The graduation decorations (and gremlin debris) have been cleared from the front lawn, and replaced with tables of information packets, food, and drinks. A series of signs point the students to the information table first, where they can pick up their room assignments from the office drones, and then continue on to the food tables to mingle.

And no, there are no inflatable gremlins around today. It's far too early to start scaring the new folks. That's what the mingling section is for!

He nodded, pursing his lips as he mulled over that a moment. "You having experience wouldn't happen to mean you know the ways to get those cheap supplies, would it?"

Then, in an apparent non-sequitor: "You didn't notice any health care facilities on your way onto the island, did you?"

"I think there was a clinic," 494 said, having spotted it on the way in, but being cagey was the thing today, apparently. "Don't imagine a town this size would need more than that."

"You're probably right," Tyler said thoughtfully. "Still. Good to know."

"We might need to leave the island to find the stuff I use."

TYyler cuffed him lightly on the arm. "Ah, X5 -- I can call you that, right? I think this may be the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

He glanced around. "I'm going to go look around a little. See you up at the room, okay? Take whatever bed you want, I'm flexible."
