Welcome Party for the Summer Students and Staff
Despite the slightly overcast sky, the weather is still good for welcoming all of the new arrivals for the Fandom High summer session. The graduation decorations (and gremlin debris) have been cleared from the front lawn, and replaced with tables of information packets, food, and drinks. A series of signs point the students to the information table first, where they can pick up their room assignments from the office drones, and then continue on to the food tables to mingle.
And no, there are no inflatable gremlins around today. It's far too early to start scaring the new folks. That's what the mingling section is for!
[OOC: All right folks, have at it!]

Re: Pick Up Room Assignments
"Room 513...who would name his son Ainsley?" he muttered under his breath as he followed the queue further into the room.
Re: Pick Up Room Assignments
Looking at her roommate assignment quieted her right down, though.
A BOY?
Well of course it was a boy. Who names a little girl 'Peter'? She'd better find him so that they could get this straightened out right away.
She blinked at the office worker exactly twice. "I'll be right back."
She began working her way through the crowd, asking various strangers, "Are you Peter Pevensie?"

For onceShe held out her hand, "Hi, I'm Ainsley Hayes."
WOW is he cute.
Re: Pick Up Room Assignments
Taking her hand, Peter bowed over it and said "It's certainly a pleasure to meet you, Lady Ainsley."
Courtesies finished, he groped for a topic. "Are you new to this school as well?" (Yep, tongue-tied and banal. But who's going to tell a lady that they're supposed to share a room?)
Re: Pick Up Room Assignments
"Er.. ah.. um... " She finally composed herself, tilted her head, and smiled.
"Why, yes, thank you." She glanced down, finally remembering the reason she'd sought him out.
Gently reclaiming her hand, she brushed her hair behind her left ear.
"More to the point," she said, blushing a little, "we seem to be roommates, and that can't be right."
Re: Pick Up Room Assignments
"Erm, no, I don't believe it could be. I was a bit surprised to be going to school with ladies such as yourself. Sharing a room seems even more odd." Though at this point, the 16 year old boy really wouldn't mind.
He ran his fingers through his hair and tried to think of a rationale for the mistake that didn't involve 'Ainsley' being a boy's name.
"Perhaps they had written down my name incorrectly? They could have thought I was Petra or something."

"Who do you think we should talk to about it?"
Re: Pick Up Room Assignments
He offered Ainsley his arm, "Shall we?"
Re: Pick Up Room Assignments
Ainsley took the proffered arm.
Grinning like a loon.
