Shop Class: [2/27] - Danger Shop Craziness

As the students enter the shop room, Mac greets them with a smile.

After everyone arrives and signs-in, Mac makes some adjustments to the remote control and the room turns into a metal scrapyard.

"Hey everyone. Welcome to Shop Class. Today we'll be doing another one of our Junkyard creativity excercises..."

*SLAM* *CLUNK*

Mac looks over at the doors to the shop class which have closed and locked on their own. "Hal? Could you open please?"

"I'm sorry Mac," said a monotone voice. "I'm afraid I can't do that. Apparently someone is very upset at you."

Five robots shimmer into existence around the group of students.

"Okay. This is not good," Mac muttered to himself. "Kids! Run for it! Get into the supply room! There's no holoprojectors there!"

Mac throws the smoke bomb into the room where it lights up and causes a smoke screen. "Now! Go for it!"

The robots were confused by the smoke. Three immediately turned around and fired at each other. One fell, adding more smoke to the chaos.

The rest advanced towards the supply room.

John takes off his other shoe and chucks into the smoke, heading out after it.

One of the robots blasted the shoe with its lasers. The other advanced towards John. "EXTERMINATE!'

Xander, crouched low to the ground, tries to picture the big eye on top of the nearest robot -- which looks kind of familiar, like something he saw on Mr. What when he was a kid -- as a tv antenna.

He thinks, 'BITTERWOMAN' at it, really loudly.

Kawalsky grabbed one of the other M-16s and headed out. It wasn't his favorite weapon, but he knew how to use it well. He provided suppressive fire from the right flank of the main group. Kawalsky wanted to conserve ammo as much as possible, and he didn't want to hit anyone that might be running around, so he fired in short bursts at various robots.

His aim was good. Whether the bullets could penetrate the metallic armor was another thing altogether.

One shiny robot in particular turned its focus on Kawalksy.

EXTERMINATE!

It let off two laser blasts at the kid with a gun.

Kawalsky managed to dodge one laser shot, but the other one singed his jacket far too closely for comfort.

He turned and fired a few shots at the Dalek.

Nadia, who had been hanging back and listening so far because, dammit, tomorrow is her mun's dad's birthday and she had to go celebrate with family, clutched her mallet of doom and the pistol she *handwaved* grabbed and looked for an opening.

A robot materializes behind Nadia and turns to attack her

Nadia is trying to keep an eye on pretty much everything at once, and almost doesn't notice the robot behind her. Fortunately, she glances back.

"Govno!" She brings her gun to bear. Remembering what her downfall was in the simulation last week, she fires a touch more conservatively, taking a little bit longer to line up her shots.

She has a feeling two shots and it goes down might not apply here.

Lilly can't even name the type of firearm she's carrying, but it looks simple enough.

Hopefully she won't blow her shoulder off.

A robot appears behind one of the junk piles. "EXTERMINATE" and fires a laser blast at the pretty girl.

Lilly totally takes one in the chest and dies.

Bummer. But she'll sleep it off.

Duo, who absolutely HATES robots that aren't manually piloted by someone with mad skills such as his own, forgot that he was also carrying a tiny emergency explosive in his hair. He activates it and tosses it gleefully at a particularly large group of advancing bots. After he hears the satisfying BOOMCLANGCRUNCH, he grabs a few handguns and moves out.

The explosion attracts the attention of one robot in particular. It trains it's laser at Duo and fires.

Since he's used to bullets and energy beam cannons, Duo is not really expecting lasers so the laser hits one of his handguns and it goes clattering to the floor. He looks at the robot with a mixture of incredulity and annoyance.

"Hey! You freak!" He says, and fires at the robot's laser with his remaining gun.

The laser flies out of the robot's hand. It pauses momentarily and then throws a fist at Duo's head.

Pip grins at Duo as he grabs an M-16. "Dude, you might just be my new best friend."

Friends? Robots don't believe in friends.

They do believe in shooting at people with lasers.

"Nothin' like a firefight for showin' off explosives and makin' friends!" Duo laughs and points at the pile of busted robots he created. "And if that's not a sure indicator of an awesome friendship, I dunno what is!"

One of the robots zeroed in on Syd and fired a laser.

The robot staggered back with the first two shots and started advancing again.

Then staggered back again and started smoking.

Two more robots appeared on either side of it.
