Shop Class: [2/27] - Danger Shop Craziness

As the students enter the shop room, Mac greets them with a smile.

After everyone arrives and signs-in, Mac makes some adjustments to the remote control and the room turns into a metal scrapyard.

"Hey everyone. Welcome to Shop Class. Today we'll be doing another one of our Junkyard creativity excercises..."

*SLAM* *CLUNK*

Mac looks over at the doors to the shop class which have closed and locked on their own. "Hal? Could you open please?"

"I'm sorry Mac," said a monotone voice. "I'm afraid I can't do that. Apparently someone is very upset at you."

Five robots shimmer into existence around the group of students.

"Okay. This is not good," Mac muttered to himself. "Kids! Run for it! Get into the supply room! There's no holoprojectors there!"

"Your shoe has gone to a better place." says Pippi.

"To Valhalla. Where the brave live forever."

She tumbles forward in the smoke past a (hopefully) confused robot and takes a moment to but her fist through the back of what possibly serves as its head.

Pip grabs an M-16 off the rack and loads the catridge. He swings the weapon around at the pepper shaker shaped robots. "Walter, if there was ever a time for you to be ungodly fast, it'd be now!"

The robots, confused by a sudden glitch in their programming that looks like a woman in a very skimpy costume, stopped stock still to process and work out the bugs.

Walter runs for it, taking care to try to keep some cover. It's extremely frustrating not to actually be attacking.

He's damned fast, though and he's hopeful about making it to the control panel quickly.

John, trying to do something to help, throws debris at the robots to hopefully cover Walter's run.

One of the more advanced robots fired at Walter, aiming for where it expected him to be based on a constant rate of speed.

Somewhat behind Walter, Pippi comes running up shooting at the robot as it fires at him.

"Walter! Dodge!"

*BOOM*

*chack chack*

*BOOM*

This shooting would probably have more punch when she gets closer to the robot.

Back to that bullets versus lasers equation. Walter cursed as he dove for cover and felt a hot line burn across his shoulder blades.

He stayed low and scrambled forward, still moving fast.

Some of the shrapnel dinged the robot, but it kept shooting at Walter, twisting its head around to keep an eye on Pippi.

Pippi draws closer, weaving and dodging, and shoots at the eye thing as it turns towards her.

It fired back quickly. Unfortunately, being a robot, it was unable to move as agilely as a human and was shot in the eye. It wasn't a direct hit, but there was smoke.

And possibly some robotic flailing.

Pippi springs forward with a growl and attempts to pick the robot up.

Ignoring the discomfort, and taking random changes in direction, Walter burst out from cover and ran as fast as he could (which was considerably fast) to the access panel.

He was fired upon repeatedly, but some of the shots may have gone a bit wild. Something kept interfering with its circuitry and programming.


[ooc: The panel will be openable, but I think there's something already worked out to shut the robots off.]

[ooc: Yeah, I thought so, which leaves me here for now. I'll let chronofluidity bring the major players in to do what they need to do. I don't want to muck things up.]

Xander throws a flaming twinkie at them, wishes he had a crossbow to launch it with because he's actually pretty decent with one of those, and thinks loudly of The Earls of Danger, who would, admittedly, never shoot flaming Twinkies from their stock-car windows.

"Good throwing, Xander," John says. "You're a Twinkie Sharpshooter!"

"Like your shoes, I mourn them, but at least they're dying for a good cause," Xander says. Shouts, really, over the gunshots.

"You wanna try to get through these together? Hook arms or something?" John offers his arm. "So we won't get separated."

"Uh.... Sure?" Xander links arms with John. And suspects the robots are now seeing that 'We're off to see the warlock' song from The Warlock of Id.

The robot, not being a big fan of twinkies, boykissy, or musicals, fired directly at their joined hands.

John doesn't yank away quite fast enough and takes a shot to the hand.

"Crap! Ow!" He shakes his hand, blows on it, sees that it's burned and frowns. "I hate school," he says but links his arm and hand back with Xander's.

Pip fires at the robot firing at John and Xander.

He does not take kindly to robots firing at his friends. Even if they currently look like rejects from a 1930's movie.

Pip takes aim at the eyestalks and fires in short bursts at the robots, trying to knock out their abillity to see.

One of Pip's shots hit the eyestalks of one of the robots. It exploded and began to smoke.
