Shop Class: [2/27] - Danger Shop Craziness

As the students enter the shop room, Mac greets them with a smile.

After everyone arrives and signs-in, Mac makes some adjustments to the remote control and the room turns into a metal scrapyard.

"Hey everyone. Welcome to Shop Class. Today we'll be doing another one of our Junkyard creativity excercises..."

*SLAM* *CLUNK*

Mac looks over at the doors to the shop class which have closed and locked on their own. "Hal? Could you open please?"

"I'm sorry Mac," said a monotone voice. "I'm afraid I can't do that. Apparently someone is very upset at you."

Five robots shimmer into existence around the group of students.

"Okay. This is not good," Mac muttered to himself. "Kids! Run for it! Get into the supply room! There's no holoprojectors there!"

[OOC: OCD ~~Threads a coming!~~ up!]

"I suppose you have to fight the robots uphill both ways as well?" She yells back crouching between the curved siding and the smoking husk of a disabled robot.

"This sucks." she mutters as she reaches down to pull off her boots and tied the laces together with a slip knot.

"I have boots for him, but he has to take good care of them!!!" She yells back. "I'll throw them to you, where are you?"

Xander yelled back ~~with permission~~, "OVER HERE!"

Pippi peeked out and tossed the shoes over the robots in the direction of the yelling.

[[ooc: the boots are about a size 12 men's, they are very old (see avatar) but they are sturdy and have good soles.

Xander catches one of the flying boots, but while he's fumbling for it, the other hits him square on the top of the head.

"OW! ~~Words I can't yell within hearing range of Pippi Longstoncking OMG!~~"

He rubs his head, picks up the other boot and holds the pair out to John, and rubs his head some more.

"THANKS! OW!" he yells back to Pippi.

"That looked like it hurt like a bitch," John says, grimacing at Xander. He slides the boots on and laces them. "Thanks Pippi," John yells.

"Ready?"

And the final two lyrics are enough for the robots to burst into flame.

Other robots begin to move in to take their place.

Xander watches in shock that is a combination of pleased and horrified.

"I... don't know if it's worth risking finding another channel playing that song, or not," he says to John. "There's one about killer bees that might work, but it's kind of country, so it might make them start line-dancing, and I'm not sure any of us want that."

"At least it seems to be working," John points out. "They're exploding due to the horrific nature of that song. We could...make a break for Nadia? And hope they don't start doing the Electric Slide?"

Xander looks at him in horror. "Don't give them IDEAS!" But the rest of that sounds like a good plan, so he nods.

"Hey Pippi!' he shouts. "Where's Nadia - is she near you?" Because they kind of need a direction to make a break in.

"Okay," she yells back, "If the direction of my voice is 12 o'clock... Nadia would be at like 9 or 10!"

"Yay, math," Xander says, though he actually knows those kind of directions fairly instinctively thanks to the military memory thing. He gets them pointed inthe right direction and looks at John "Ready?"

"Yep." John wipes the sweat off his forehead. "Ready as I'll ever be. After this? Alcohol."

"Dude, after this? I might even risk Bridge's liquid black evil from space." Xander holds out his arm - after all, it seems to have worked so far.

"I'll be right there with you," John says, moving to link his arm with Xander's. "Maybe after a clinic visit and some good painkillers. I'm ready."

Xander would go for the "Yippee-kai-yay-motherfrakker" approach, but they're supposed to be making a break for it, not calling attention to themselves, so he gives John a nod and counts 1, 2, 3 with his free (and burninated, ow) hand, before breaking into a run.

John's right with him, running blindly and hoping that they can find Nadia in this mess.

As Xander and John round the corner, they'll find Nadia lying on the ground unconcious.

A robot appears to be hovering over her.

"Uh oh." John stops and stares at the robot. "Hey...robot dude. Maybe you could let us have Nadia? For the good of robot/human relations?"

John looks up, meets Sydney's eyes and nods slightly. He doesn't wan to give away Sydney's position but he wants her to know he sees her.

"Mr. Robot Guy? C'mon, I'm gonna take Nadia now and we can be friends or something..."

John kneels down to check on Nadia.

Xander spots the gun on the ground by Nadia's side, but doesn't try doing anything with that knowledge just yet - they've already got one on their side now, and it's aimed at the robot. Besides, if he's gonna be stupid and dive in front of a pissed-off toaster for something, it's gonna be his little sib, not a weapon that might or might not even help.

Nadia let out a very soft groan and twitched slightly.

The robot suddenly raised his fist and let loose with a deadly punch aimed at John's head.

"Shoot him!" John shouts, covering his head with his arm.

The robot jolts with each bullet and then turns to face Syd, approaching her slowly.
