Shop Class: [2/27] - Danger Shop Craziness

As the students enter the shop room, Mac greets them with a smile.

After everyone arrives and signs-in, Mac makes some adjustments to the remote control and the room turns into a metal scrapyard.

"Hey everyone. Welcome to Shop Class. Today we'll be doing another one of our Junkyard creativity excercises..."

*SLAM* *CLUNK*

Mac looks over at the doors to the shop class which have closed and locked on their own. "Hal? Could you open please?"

"I'm sorry Mac," said a monotone voice. "I'm afraid I can't do that. Apparently someone is very upset at you."

Five robots shimmer into existence around the group of students.

"Okay. This is not good," Mac muttered to himself. "Kids! Run for it! Get into the supply room! There's no holoprojectors there!"

It worked like a dream, but the robot was still twitching, so it might have been a nightmare.

"Oh if only Papa was here. I can't begin to describe what he'd do to you if he saw us like this."

Headbut again. She's trying to crush its face in and damage its eyes.

*CLANG* Went her forehead against the bridge of its "nose"...

She blinked away the spots in her vision and her head was throbbing.

"My goodness," says Pippi as a trickle of blood makes its way down the center of her face, "You're a sturdy boy aren't you?"

The robot didn't bother to answer. Since it was starting to smoke, and possibly about to explode.

Re: Pippi and the Robot

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh nasty smoke, we've seen these things explode before...

Pippi throws the robot off of her and at the shooty robots.

She flips around and scrabbles away, diving into a junk pile the way Scrooge MacDuck dives into a pile of gold coins.

Re: Pippi and the Robot

[identity profile] fh-dangershop.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
The robot explodes spectacularly, taking out a whole hoarde of its comrades and clearing a path through the chaos.

Re: Pippi and the Robot

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Hopefully, the path leads to the console.

Hey look! There's my shotty!

"Sam!" she called out, not sure if anybody could hear her. "I've made a hole! Where are you?"

Pippi grits her teeth and darts out of the junk pile. She tucks and rolls as she grabs her shot gun.

*chack chack*

That's just a really great sound, it really lifts her spirits.

She follows the path of destruction, keeping an eye out to make sure it stays some semblance of clear.

[identity profile] fh-dangershop.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
A single robot steps into the path and fires at Pippi.

*BOOM*

The gun goes off as the laser shot hits Pippi in her already shot shoulder.

*chack chack*

Oh man, it hurt to do that, her shoulder was an all new experience in a level of pain. Pain, itself, was not something Pippi had a working relationship as it was.

"Out of my way!"

Re: Pippi and the Robot

[identity profile] fh-dangershop.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
The robots, as a rule, didn't listen well. It advanced and fired again.

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Stupid crappy voice recognition software...

*BOOM*

Pippi shot at the thing's face and dodged behind a rusting ford prefect (http://www.dyna.co.za/cars/1949_Ford_Prefect_sf1.jpg) body.

*chack chack*

Ford (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Prefect_%28character%29) wasn't terribly pleased with this, and decided to hitch a ride on the nearest passing space ship, even if it WAS a Vodon ship.

The robot continued firing and advancing on Pippi behind the car.

Re: Pippi and the Robot

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Pippi pops up and shoots at the robot over the trunk of the car.

*BOOM*

*chack chack*

*BOOM*

Re: Pippi and the Robot

The robot staggers back with each shot, only to step forward again.

Re: Pippi and the Robot

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Pippi was getting rather peeved at the robot's refusal to stop.

How many shots had she fired and how many were left...

2 + 1 + 2 + 2?

1 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 2?

2 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 1?

Whatever.

*BOOM*

*chack chack*

*BOOM*

*chack chack*

*BOOM*

*chack chack*

*click* *click click*

Mental note... Shotty holds 10 rounds.

The robot's chest is smoking impressively, but it continues to press on towards Pippi and the prefect. It slows slightly with each step.

Re: Pippi and the Robot

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay so Pippi doesn't think she had time to reload.

She tells herself that it's not a real car so it's okay as she rips the door off the Prefect. She balls it up into, well, a ball, and spikes it at the approaching robot.

Re: Pippi and the Robot

[identity profile] fh-dangershop.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
The robot had been constructed to withstand quite a lot . . . but no one had expected it to get hit with a crumpled car door. It went down, still smoking.

Re: Pippi and the Robot

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Pippi reloads with extra rounds stashed in her pockets as she dashes in the direction she saw Walter go oh so long ago.

Re: Pippi and the Robot

[identity profile] fh-dangershop.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Two robots appear behind her and take aim.

Re: Pippi and the Robot

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Big clunky robots yeah? Not so stealthy?

Pippi hears them comming.

She doesn't even look back, she just zips behind another junk pile and then takes cover behind a refrigerator.

Re: Pippi and the Robot

[identity profile] fh-dangershop.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
The robots stopped in their tracks and scanned the area. One seemed to locate Pippi's position and fired at the refrigerator.

Re: Pippi and the Robot

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Pippi scurries away from the refrigerator, and headed around the junk piles to try and come up behind the two robots.

Hmmmm, endorphins!

Re: Pippi and the Robot

[identity profile] fh-dangershop.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Both robots spun to attack Pippi . . . but turned the wrong way and ended up briefly firing on each other.

They exploded into a firery fury.

Re: Pippi and the Robot

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Huh." she says not aware of what's going on at Hal's console (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/676188.html?thread=32461148#t32461148). "Something must be happening, I'm pretty sure they're not supposed to be that stupid..."

She looks around.

"Walter! Where are you?"

Re: Pippi and the Robot

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-02-28 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
Walter remembered making it to the panel. He was pretty sure he'd gotten where he was supposed to go. He didn't remember anything else and had no idea why that was.

He remembered why his back hurt like an expletive deleted, though.

"Here." He moved very gingerly toward Pippi and looked her over. "Where's everyone else?"
