The Library Is Open (12/05/05)

Janet unlocks the library and flips on the lights.

Sitting on the Collections Desk is a package addressed to "Adam Pierson." The envelope is embossed with an unusual symbol, the meaning of which Janet didn't know. Except she did, because she steamed open the last envelope that came with that symbol on it. But she couldn't do that to this package without getting caught. And that was really starting to bug her.

She moved the package behind the Collections Desk and glared at it until the first library patron showed up.

Lee comes in to study and sees Janet. Pulling a little parcel of cookies out of his bag he comes to see her. "Hey Janet!"

Methos walks in and sees the cookies. "Oh, are those for me? Morning, Janet."

"Hi, Lee!" says Janet, grinning at him. She shoves the book a little further behind the Collections Desk. "How's it going?"

Parker came in yawning and looking subdued. She asat down behind the counter and ignored the cookies. "Fraiser. Dr. Pierson."

"Morning, Parker. How was your weekend?" Methos asks carefully.

Wesley walks into the library and heads for the stacks, consulting a note.

Cameron enters the library, carrying a book, and looks around a bit wearily before he heads to the desk.

"Hey, Mitchell." Parker smiled slightly. "Welcome back to walking upright. How can I help you?"

Callisto stalks into the library and starts looking through the shelves.

"Callisto? Looking for something in particular?" Parker asks, wandering by to shelve a few books.

[CJ walks in carrying a basket. She's nearly glowing, and heads straight for the circ desk looking for Parker and Zero.]

Parker blinked as C.J. approached the circulation desk. She looked *much* better than she had when Parker saw her on Saturday night, and she couldn't help being relieved. "Hi, Professor Cregg. He's scarfing cookies in his office. Do you want me to get him?"

Angela enters the library and joins Parker and Janet behind the desk. "Hey. How are you guys?"

Parker looked up, and smiled very slightly. "Uh. Fine. Happy Monday. Adama brought cookies, want some?"

Zero comes in, head down, sunglasses on, and gets to work shelving without a word to anyone.

Parker sees her come in, and her face falls as she starts searching the internet for scholarly articles on Greek marble restoration. Just for something to do.

Angela glances over at Zero but decides her body language means she probably doesn't want to be bothered. I hope she's just not a Monday person, she thinks, uncomfortable.

Inside the librarian's office

Methos pulls on a pair of dragonhide gloves (stopping to boggle at the concept) and starts cataloging a stack of some of the more dangerous-looking books. The package from the Watchers lays off to the side, and he glances at it occasionally. But the library work comes first.

Wesley, now in his right persona, storms in from the stacks, a book clutched tight in his arms. "This should not be in the stacks!"

Rory wanders in, and takes a seat at a table in the back.

[ooc: So...Rory has no idea she's a library aide. No one told her, or me. :) Could someone tell her so we can start training her or whatever?]

After talking with Janet and Zero, Parker notices Rory, and remembers that they hadn't told her she was an aide yet no, really!. "Hey. How's your morning going?"

Offerings for the library staff

A while later, Cameron returns with three chocolate cakes under his arm. If he's going to appease Parker-Who-Might-One-Day-Be-A-Dragon, he might as well get this right and give Zero a peace offering as well.

Broots sits down at an empty table and begins to work on his math homework. Every once in a while, he glances up to look for Miss Parker and his new shinny laptop.

Parker waves to him wearily from behind the counter, and points to a shiny new case at the end of the row. "Yes, yes, yes. And yes. It's yours."

Waving, Elizabeth made her way towards the collection desk. "You're not going to close the library as soon as I come in again, are you?" she asks, grinning.
