The Library Is Open (12/05/05)

Janet unlocks the library and flips on the lights.

Sitting on the Collections Desk is a package addressed to "Adam Pierson." The envelope is embossed with an unusual symbol, the meaning of which Janet didn't know. Except she did, because she steamed open the last envelope that came with that symbol on it. But she couldn't do that to this package without getting caught. And that was really starting to bug her.

She moved the package behind the Collections Desk and glared at it until the first library patron showed up.

Parker...he's training Jack to use a sword. He can't know. Don't ask, don't tell. He won't ask because he can't possibly know. and he'll be here all day, right? Just...be cool. You can keep a secret, can't you?

Half-relieved, half-annoyed, Parker's eyes narrow at C.J. "Are you going alone? Because if you are, I'm telling right now. Even if that does make me five years old."

Embarassed, Parker looks away. "Okay. I won't tell him. Unless he asks, then I won't lie. But if he doesn't ask, it's all... okay." She picks up an apple, and nibbles at it. "Thanks for the basket, it's lovely."
