Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

In order to give people a place to get away from the traffic jam of the buffet and information tables, most of the chairs and tables had been set up further out on the lawn, away from the school building. The bonfires were going strong, and there was plenty of room for everyone to sit down and enjoy themselves. Assuming they weren't too busy still trying to figure this place out.

Nathan was still there because, really, where else would he go? He'd had girls bounce in front of him, had a roommate who wanted him and got to eat food he didn't have to pay for.

He'd stick around for a little longer.

Bod's day had been mostly quiet and he didn't really mind that. It allowed him to think, to organize and to hopefully get some things settled in his mind.

He had no doubt he hadn't solved anything but he was trying.

So far, there'd been no sign of anyone to make Percy further doubt his sanity so he was going to count that as a win. Despite that, he was still sticking around since he didn't have much else to do.

He thought about going to get Mrs. O'Leary just for fun but decided against it since his tank like hellhound might freak people out.

Alex was still sticking to the edges of the crowd and he was still smoking. He'd been watching and checking out all the new faces but he'd mostly stayed to himself.

Maybe he'd get up the motivation to talk to people soon.

Today, Kate was picking people to talk to mostly based on how likely they were to not give a shit about whether she was a little subdued and feeling raw. Tag, Alex. You're it.

"Alex," she greeted mildly with a nod as she walked up to him. "Care to part with one of your cigarettes?"

Yes, this particular attempt at human interaction was mostly born out of necessity, even.

So, maybe the call of free food had gotten too strong or something, but Kate ended up showing up towards the evening, after a day spent alone around the largely empty town.

She kept to the edges, though, and didn't even bother with people watching too much. This really was more about the food and the warm drinks, though there were a couple of people she was hoping to maybe have a word with.

Luke was still there, stuffing his face. It's okay, he'd spend extra time in the salle tomorrow. Nobody would notice he'd practically eaten his weight in gummi bears.

Oh look, another one of those few, few people Kate actually wanted to talk to today. She made her way over with a kind of a stark sense of purpose.

"Hey, Luke, I hav--" She paused, then looked him up and down a couple of times, puzzled. Something about him was throwing her for a loop. "Did you... get bigger since I last saw you?"

Leo wasn't necessarily feeling as cheerful as he had been when starting out today, what with the creeper cousin being all threatening at him, but he still had a smile on his face. He always had a smile on his face. It was his thing.

Due to Jacob and then a visit to see Jono, Rosalind found herself later than she'd wished to be at the picnic.

Nonetheless, she was there, in her suit and looking very very professional.

And nibbling on apple slices.

Far away from skeevy roommates and nicely full of the blood Alaric so intelligently thought to supply, Caroline contemplated the crowd and whether or not there could possibly be a good clothing supplier in town. "Oh my God, I'm in fashion hell," she sighed, biting into a cookie.

Proto liked free food. A lot. And the weather was finally getting comfortably cool. So he was smiling and had a plate heaped with stuff that was in no way healthy. Which seemed like the perfect way to sit back and watch for new faces.

Scully was there more for the food and the looks of shock than anything else; but she was looking for friends to say hi to after the break, as well.

Momoko was wandering the picnic, eating, and totally excited to see both the new and familiar faces.

She may also be taking pictures of any shirtlessness, cute guys in general, or funny happenings for Dinah.

Effy was not so much socialising with the newbies, no.

But she was here, and sitting by one of the bonfires keeping an eye on everything. These things were the best people-watching opportunities out there. Like she wasn't going to take advantage.

People could always come talk to her if they really wanted to.

Chuck was kind of getting used to this little ritual. That one where he got free food, not the one where people tried to make him strip (he was not being talked into that one today).

But the food part. He was getting behind that with a well piled plate.

Ramona was slowly beginning to unwind. Sure, there were unanswered texts on her phone from Todd -- but whatever, he'd left her for his veganism, and no one here really got that, anyway. And sure, Lucas -- Lucas -- was lurking around here somewhere, and about ten years older than the last time she'd seen him.

But the people were nice, and her roommate didn't seem to be a total freak. She might kinda like it here. Maybe. Eventually. But for now, she had food and something to drink, and a good spot to people-watch.

Bruce still just stuck with a cup of coffee. He wasn't making his way around quite so much anymore. If anyone wanted to find him at this point, they could. He was tall and wearing a black coat. He wasn't exactly hidden at the moment.

Of course Ariel was still there! She had to make a quick pitstop at the library to poke at Jono for missing out on things, but she couldn't refuse a party for too long.

And she had to keep an eye out for more new students she may have missed, too!

Alexander figured, since he'd been fairly quiet and watchful during the first part of the picnic, that he should be a bit more social during this part.

...Maybe. He'd consider it. At least there weren't any false calls with dark haired girls this time, but, on the other side of that token, he felt so disappointed to not even have that jump in his heart that it might be her.
