Ethics [Tuesday, April 7, 2nd period]

When the Ethics students arrived, they'd notice a number of tables in the room, all holding nests of Woklings.

"Today we talk about lust," he said. "Or rather, the unintended consequences that can happen when you take action without precautions."

He smiled. "I don't think you'll actually make an Ewok, no, but droid babies have been done to death." He also thought that the students might need something that looked a little like giant teddy bears this week. He wouldn't say that though, for fear of tarnishing his reputation. These are sentient creatures from the forest moon of Endor." He then went on to explain what Ewoks eat (other than Han Solo), how much they slept (not much), and general care of the species. "If any of these are neglected or set on fire, the island will not be big enough for you to escape from me," he said darkly. He held up a pamphlet of Ewok to English translations. "The Woklings are young, but they do know some language. I've also made certain to get their names from the Chief this time. Please listen carefully as your names and then their names are called."

He glanced down at his notes. "Oh, I also realize that this is Prom weekend. If you are attending the dance, please arrange for babysitting."

Ino's brain was pretty much stuck on so seriously cute, awwwwwww as she tried to listen to the lecture.

But the cute was way more compelling. Awwwww.

Triela was torn. On the one hand, they were cute and fluffy and very teddy-bear-like. On the other hand, they were alive. Triela wasn't so good with that sort of thing.

Oh, there was going to be no dealing with Brooke, who looked like she was just ready to pass out and die from the cute.

Zayne was curious why he'd never heard of Ewoks before. The Republic was 21,000 years old. How could there still be sentient species that hadn't been discovered in that time?

The subject of this class was closer to recent events than Leto really liked. He tried not to think about that, but certain ancestors found it terribly amusing. He muttered something under his breath to them.

Hurley was pretty scared by the concept of having to take care of something. That was a lot of responsibility. And his track record included allowing a dog to eat $1.35 in loose change.

It was small and furry. Leto looked at the ewok, wondering if it would ruin any important property. He had a feeling that locking it in a cupboard would be inadvisable, but really, he didn't have time for this.

This was Brooke's entire reason for taking the class. Sad, wasn't it?

Sadder was the way she kept baby talking to it: "Who's cute and fuzzy? You are! And who's getting a brand new name? You are! Because that name won't do at all, will it? No it won't! No it won't!"

Someone stop her.

Chuck was kind of just staring at the...thing. It looked so freaking gross.

"I'm not touching it without gloves."

Yeah, like people haven't said the same thing to you, Chuck.

Tony stared at the Wokling. "He has your ears," he said to Marco.

Aww, Latara was a cute name.

"Hiiii," K-Mart cooed. "Oh God, you are adorable, yes you are."

Peter looked at what seemed to be a living teddy bear. He wondered if it would get along with Scout.

Re: Pair #8: Triela and Van Helsing

[identity profile] sorella-vecchia.livejournal.com 2009-04-07 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
Triela eyed her Ewok.

She dearly hoped that her partner could take part of the "it's a living creature" bits while she focused on the "it's cute and cuddly" bits.

"Hiiii," she cooed to it, "aren't you just the cutest little baby ever? Yes you are. A very good boy."

It was small, fuzzy, and alive. Ino was perfectly happy to babble silly nonsense at it.

Do I even want to know where you came up with a list of Ewok names?

Also, where's Kettch?

Also-also, can my Ewok only say "Yub, yub" for a week?
