When the Ethics students arrived, they'd notice a number of tables in the room, all holding nests of Woklings.

"Today we talk about lust," he said. "Or rather, the unintended consequences that can happen when you take action without precautions."

He smiled. "I don't think you'll actually make an Ewok, no, but droid babies have been done to death." He also thought that the students might need something that looked a little like giant teddy bears this week. He wouldn't say that though, for fear of tarnishing his reputation. These are sentient creatures from the forest moon of Endor." He then went on to explain what Ewoks eat (other than Han Solo), how much they slept (not much), and general care of the species. "If any of these are neglected or set on fire, the island will not be big enough for you to escape from me," he said darkly. He held up a pamphlet of Ewok to English translations. "The Woklings are young, but they do know some language. I've also made certain to get their names from the Chief this time. Please listen carefully as your names and then their names are called."

He glanced down at his notes. "Oh, I also realize that this is Prom weekend. If you are attending the dance, please arrange for babysitting."

It was small and furry. Leto looked at the ewok, wondering if it would ruin any important property. He had a feeling that locking it in a cupboard would be inadvisable, but really, he didn't have time for this.

Temari was also less than thrilled by this turn of events. "How do you want to work this?"

Leto thought for a moment. "I can take responibility for it first." It was an 'it', yes. "Unless you prefer that. And then we can change halfway, perhaps?"

The furry creature made odd noises.

"Are you capable of taking care of it?" A beat. "Him."

It looked like a toy! She could hardly take it seriously.

"It seems... time consuming," Leto replied. "I will do what I can to finish the assignment."

There was a lack of enthusiasm in his voice. He had better things to do.

"Children are in my experience." Her vast, vast experience with children...

While Leto himself had no experience with children, quite a few of his ancestors had. He nodded in agreement. "So, is there anything we need to discuss regarding this?"

"We'll switch off on Friday." She may have forgotten about the dance.

"I agree with that plan," Leto said, lifting little Ranok with both hands. The wokling made happy noises and wriggled.

Temari gave him one hard look before nodding. "Don't break it."

"It looks sturdy," Leto replied.

That just earned him a Look. "I will harm you if it isn't treated properly."

"I will not hurt it," Leto promised, not wanting to get into a discussion about proper treatment.

"See that you don't."

"I might not enjoy this assignment, but I will do my best," Leto snapped. "Also, I am not cruel, whatever you may think."

"I didn't say you were," Temari replied dryly. "I can't say I know you very well at all to make that judgement."

"So, do you always assume the worse of people?" Leto asked.

"Yes." It was generally proven to be true.

"I see. Does it affect your number of friends?" Not being able to trust anyone must be a hard life.

"Not where I'm from." It was usually just the normal behavior around strangers, really.

Perhaps enough people had proven themselves trustworthy. Either way, it was none of his business. "I will bring you the wokling on Friday."
