Archery Workshop #2, 5/30, Danger Shop, Afternoon

The Danger Shop is set up like an outdoor archery field this week, with fifteen targets, fifteen bows, and fifteen quivers of arrows. The arrows, the students will find, are tipped with suction cups. Off to one side is Miho, lounging in a lawn chair with an umbrella. On the table next to it is the sign-in sheet. An incongruous freestanding blackboard is set up next to her, with the words Beginning Archery. Shoot the targets. Leave when you are done. written on it.

Miho gets up, takes up her own bow and a suction cup arrow, and demonstrates for the class by shooting at the first target in the line. Bullseye. Then she returns to her seat, picks up her glass of lemonade, and watches for any errors in form she'll need to correct.

"I'm having stickiness issues," Dawn complained as her arrow bounced off the target for the third time.

She looked skeptically at the arrow, then at her tongue, which she'd stuck out. "I don't know where it's been."

Bel raised an eyebrow. "You don't know where your tongue has been? Does it get up and go off on its own a lot?" he joked.

"Yes," she nodded, "it goes off and has adventures without me all the time. I feel very left out."

"I meant the arrow," she said, in case that hadn't been clear.

"Try pulling the bowstring back a little more," Sam suggested. "If you put more force into the shooting, the arrow will hit harder and probably stick better."

"See, now that sounds useful," Dawn said, doing as instructed, "as opposed to my licking it, which also makes sense, but adds that 'ew' factor which I'm trying to avoid."

She pulled the bowstring back to her shoulder, then let the arrow fly. "It stuck!" She bounced, then grinned at Sam. "Thanks!"

Sam grinned back, feeling rather pleased with himself. "No problem. Although, I have to say that licking it would probably work too." No, there were no dirty intentions behind that, really.

And Dawn was back to looking skeptically at the arrow. "I think I should stick to licking my own arrows, don't you?"

Bel nodded in greeting to Sam, suddenly a little glad that since Sam and his brother were in the class, suction cups instead of real arrows might not be such a bad idea after all.

Sam nodded back at Bel, before tentatively moving a little closer. "Hey, do you know a guy named Blair?"

"Yeah, Sammy's right," Dean said, his brain just slow enough that his brother got the advice in before he did. Stupid hangover.

Oh god. Buffy had been there last night, hadn't she? He gave a weak version of his usual grin back at her. "Kill me now," Dean muttered under his breath.

"I've got photos!" Buffy called over at him. Jaye was right. This was totally the best fun ever. She was still not sure about girlkissy, but boykissy definitely got two thumbs up.

"You okay?" Dawn lowered the arrow she'd been aiming.

"Yeah," Dean said, trying to look healthier, and really only succeeding in looking like death warmed over. "Just... had a rough morning is all."

"You don't look so great," Dawn informed him, "Do you and your unnatural shade of greenish want me to take you to the clinic? Sam told me about the kissing, by the way."

Sam snickered as he watched Dean. "Dude, exactly how much did you drink last night?" he asked quietly.

"I lost count after about four," Dean admitted. "It's not funny."

"Oh, but it so is," Sam replied, fully laughing now. He'd ask if it made the kissing any easier, but he's not really sure if he wants to bring that up.

"The night wasn't the rough part," Dean said. "Just... kinda foggy. The morning was the rough part."
