Archery Workshop #2, 5/30, Danger Shop, Afternoon

The Danger Shop is set up like an outdoor archery field this week, with fifteen targets, fifteen bows, and fifteen quivers of arrows. The arrows, the students will find, are tipped with suction cups. Off to one side is Miho, lounging in a lawn chair with an umbrella. On the table next to it is the sign-in sheet. An incongruous freestanding blackboard is set up next to her, with the words Beginning Archery. Shoot the targets. Leave when you are done. written on it.

Miho gets up, takes up her own bow and a suction cup arrow, and demonstrates for the class by shooting at the first target in the line. Bullseye. Then she returns to her seat, picks up her glass of lemonade, and watches for any errors in form she'll need to correct.

"He did?" Dean said, his voice going up in alarm.

Y'know, maybe being an only child wouldn't have been that bad, he thought darkly in the part of his brain not panicking.

"Uh huh," Dawn who missed the radio broadcast nodded. "All about it."

"It wasn't my idea," Dean said quickly. "Jaye bribed me with free alcohol and then took advantage of my compromised state."

"You kissed Jaye?" Dawn wasn't sure how she felt about that.

"No!" Dean denied. "No, god no. There was no kissing of Jaye. Well, 'cept by Rory, but- No. The answer you're looking for is no."

"But, then, how'd she take advantage of you?" Dawn's eyes widened as she clued in. "Who did you kiss?"

"Ah...." Dean fidgeted, thought about trying to deflect the question with a 'Hey, did you know Sammy kissed Anakin?' but figured that was only going to be buy him a minute or two. Lowering his voice, he muttered, ""

"Alec? Like looks exactly like you Alec? That kinda ranks up there on the greek mythometer." After a few seconds hesitation during which she wasn't sure she wanted to know the answer, Dawn asked, "Did you like it?"

"I... uh...." The fact that Dean was having to think about it was freaking him out and he shied away from the whole thing before it could bring back the epic headache he'd had that morning. Instead he tried a smile and said, "Who I like kissing is you."

Dawn was skeptical, but decided to let him get away with it. For then. "That's good. Would you like kissing me better if I was Alec?"

Okay, so maybe she wasn't letting him get away with it.

Dean blinked. "Why would you want to be Alec?" he asked bewildered.

"I wouldn't want to be Alec," Dawn said, frustrated, "but would you want me to be Alec, for kissing purposes? Y'know, except for where there'd be another you running around, because that's just a little too much of a good thing, if you ask me."

"No, I wouldn't want you to be Alec for kissing purposes. I might want Alec to be you for kissing purposes if I ever had to kiss him again, which would take a hell of a lot more alcohol to..." He trailed off before his mouth could get him into even more trouble than it had last night. He mentally reviewed her words and blinked and smiled slightly, "You think I'm a good thing?"

"Sooooooo not the point," Dawn rolled her eyes and tried to figure out whether detention would be worth it, "but duh!"

Dean smiled, feeling a little bit better about life with that declaration. "I take my points where I can find them."

"You're very pointy." Dawn said. "Are you feeling any better?"

"That's very sweet," Dawn smiled dopily, "but I meant do I need to help you get to the clinic after the workshop?"

"Nah. Just something I have to suffer through." He'd seen Dad deal with enough hangovers to know how they run their course. He also had a great deal more respect for how Dad managed to function in spite of it. "I already feel better than I did this morning. I should be fine by dinner." He hoped. "Actually I do have a project I thought you might want to help me with..."

"Yeah." He lowered his voice. "I'll have to give you the details after class where certain brothers can't overhear, but if you're not doing anything, want to come into town with me?"

Dawn nodded. "Sounds good, unless what you're going to do to Sam isn't nice, in which case I'll try to persuade you not to do it."

"It's nice," Dean assured her. "I wouldn't ask if I was trying to get him for something. Sammy and I have an unwritten rule about not bringing in others when we prank each other."
