Rather than fly from Philadelphia to Baltimore, Eric's parents had given him a lift. They had offered to drive him directly to the school, but he told them he would rather meet the group at the airport and take the shuttle. That way he'd get an early glimpse at all the hot girls he was sure would be going to his new school.

So now he was relaxing in the lounge, drinking a soda and waiting. It wasn't going to college, but it would do.

Anakin stalked toward the group, moving fast enough to make the hem of his robe skim off the ground.

He wore his traditional scowl on his face.

"Fandom?" he asked.

"Uh, yeah, but, dude, it's a school and you look a little old for high school," Eric pointed out helpfully.

Anakin shot him a withering look. "I came with the shuttle to get you to Fandom," he explained.

Don't call him a bus driver.

Illyria, unlike Eric -- actually everything about Illyria was as unlike Eric as inhumanly possible. In this instance the important part was that she answered with as few words as the man in front of them had used.

"Yes."

And she rather admired the scowl.

"Then I'm in the right place," Anakin said. He hadn't doubted it, really, but it was a nice opening for conversation. "Please bring your bags and follow me."

... Huh. Robes. That hadn't been entirely what Jonothon was expecting of this whole alternate boarding school experience, but they weren't exactly strange compared to some of the things he'd already seen in his lifetime, either.

He nodded, some piece of him still wondering what the hell he was getting himself into, here. But he wouldn't voice that much even if he had a mouth to speak it with, and he wasn't going to go throwing his telepathy around unless he absolutely had to.

"Nope, my name's Hayley!" she greeted, smiling proudly.

"I'm Master Skywalker," he replied. "I teach at the school along with Master Minsc over there."

Pause.

"Boo doesn't exactly teach."

"That's where my brother said I'm going," Didi offered, then gestured to the smiley face on her jacket. "Want my button?"

The robes were... an odd way of dressing, but the scowl made Angela feel even better about this, like maybe there was hope for this place, and people would take school as serious as they should.

She even smiled.

Calvin had taken one look at Anakin and decided to take his chances on the first plane he could get a ticket for instead.

'Luckily' Hobbes had pounced on him before he could take three steps.

Lying on the terminal floor with a stuffed tiger on your head was a brilliant way to make a first impression.

Meanwhile, the other chaperons, one very large and muscly and bald, and the other very small and hairy and hamster-like, were looking over a road map.

"Boo," Minsc was telling his hamster, "I think that is a river, not a road. But okay, okay! You're the navigator here, and I must trust your instincts."

He patted the hamster proudly before turning his attention to the new shiny students.

"WELCOME," he boomed, "WELCOME, WELCOME! Fandom Shuttle! One and all! Plenty of room, no need to shove!"

"You're sure your pet knows the way?"

Well, he was certainly enthusiastic. Summer couldn't help but smile at that. She might have stared a little at Boo. She thought the hamster was cute, okay?

"Does he have a good sense of direction?" She asked, gesturing to the hamster.
