Rather than fly from Philadelphia to Baltimore, Eric's parents had given him a lift. They had offered to drive him directly to the school, but he told them he would rather meet the group at the airport and take the shuttle. That way he'd get an early glimpse at all the hot girls he was sure would be going to his new school.

So now he was relaxing in the lounge, drinking a soda and waiting. It wasn't going to college, but it would do.

Minsc's eyebrows lifted, looking at the boy with something like surprise. "Pet?" he asked. "Boo here is no mere pet! A man would have to be something pretty special to think he could make a pet out of a miniature giant space hamster, my good sir!"

"Miniature giant space hamster?" Clark found he was repeating an awful lot of what other people said this morning. "I'm sorry, this is the shuttle to Fandom High?"

"Indeed it is, my good sir!" Minsc assured him with gusto, including another bold sweep of his arm toward the fine vessel. "Step right up and aboard, ye mateys, and we shall start our adventure to the school very shortly!"

"Yeah, definitely an adventure," Clark murmured under his breath as he boarded, wishing Chloe or Pete was there to hear about this one.

"Have fun!" Minsc called. "Be good! Buckle up!"

No, there weren't seat belts.

Minsc didn't really know what that meant, it just seemed like the right thing to say.
