BWI Portalocity Terminal [Saturday Morning]

Rather than fly from Philadelphia to Baltimore, Eric's parents had given him a lift. They had offered to drive him directly to the school, but he told them he would rather meet the group at the airport and take the shuttle. That way he'd get an early glimpse at all the hot girls he was sure would be going to his new school.

So now he was relaxing in the lounge, drinking a soda and waiting. It wasn't going to college, but it would do.

And, really, no one should blame her for that.

Minsc hardly needed more prompting than that to whip out his hamster, presenting him to the little lady. "Yes, Boo!" he announced with the pride of a father. "My brave and close companion! Say hello to the nice little lady, Boo!"

"Mouse!" Hayley said, jumping back. "Ew, ew, ew, ew!"

Well, that was rude.

"Hamster!" Minsc informed the little lady brusquely with a frown. "He's a hamster, not a mouse. A miniature giant space one, to be precise."

"...does that mean he's not, like, filled with icky diseases?" Hayley said, apprehensive.

Minsc let out a big huff. "Of course he's not!"

And then he thrust Boo forward so that the girl could have a good look at him. "Does this look like the face of icky disease? Do it?"

Hayley barely held in her shriek.

"No sir, it doesn't," she said. "...can I go take a seat on the bus now?"

"Yeah, yeah," said Minsc, not thoroughly convinced that she had put her faith in the hamster yet, but he waved a hand toward the door, "get on in! And buckle up!"

Forget the fact that there weren't actually seatbelts on buses.

Minsc didn't even really know what it meant.
