Rather than fly from Philadelphia to Baltimore, Eric's parents had given him a lift. They had offered to drive him directly to the school, but he told them he would rather meet the group at the airport and take the shuttle. That way he'd get an early glimpse at all the hot girls he was sure would be going to his new school.

So now he was relaxing in the lounge, drinking a soda and waiting. It wasn't going to college, but it would do.

Oh, well, that was... No, it wasn't even new. Jono had been going to school under Emma Frost for weeks, now, after all. He did stop in his tracks for a moment, though, balking a little at the reaction that got.

He was trading off one Massachusetts Academy for another one, wasn't he?

Anakin nodded sympathetically. He remembered how long it took for vocal cords burned by lava to come close to working again.

So you used to have them?

Anakin was very careful not to offer sympathy. You'll get used to it, he replied instead, mental tone all business.
