Movie Appreciation: Week 5, Period 3 (Fri. 2/6)

For Movie Appreciation, the Danger Shop was transformed into the usual auditorium with a strange new twist. There was a giant pool of icy water off to the side with floating slabs of driftwood strewn about.

Ronon sat on the edge of the stage, waiting for students to take their seats before introducing the day's movie. "I'm told for people from the right time, Titanic is a classic romance. I watched it, and I gotta tell you, if that's romance, Earth is screwed." For serious. "So this guy falls for some girl and shows her how to live or something. Then the boat they're on gets hit by a block of ice and sinks. Now, I know, spoilers or something are bad? Whatever, if I tell you everyone ends up in icy water like that," he pointed to the tank, "you tell me how many people live or die."

"Right, so let's suffer through Celine watch some parts of it and get a feel for this movie before you guys stick yourselves in the water and decide if the chick could've made some space for that guy on her plank. Still think it's true love and romance?" He flicked a switch on the remote and started up the clips.

Brooke actually liked the movie, but it was a chick flick with a hot guy and a good cry attached to the end. Not that she was going to cry at it. In class anyway.

Firekeeper was, quite frankly, really not sure why anyone thought a movie about a boat was a good idea. Stupid boats. Made her queasy just thinking about it. Not queasy enough for the barf bag, though.

While she hadn't seen the movie, she did know the Titanic story, and the whole scenario seemed a very depressing setting for a love story. Hardly a happy ending.

When it came down to it, Angela was really more of a rom com girl.

How sad, how very very sad.

Emmett sat there kind of wishing someone would come in here and kill him.

Do you know how many times Edward dragged him to see this movie? DO YOU?

It was twelve. Twelve times.

Romeo wasn't crying. There was just ... dust in his eyes.

A lot of dust, going by how often he had to reach into his bag for another Kleenex.

At least it had that hot actress who always took her clothes off; he sniffled and waited for the next naked part.

Peyton would totally have made room on her plank for the guy she was in love with.

Ugh. Where were the explosions? John didn't like watching movies like this unless he had someone to mess around with during the boring parts. Which was looking a lot like the whole thing.

Yeah, this movie? Would be why Dean had a 'no chick flicks' rule.

Claudia had never seen this movie before.

Which was why Claudia was now wishing she hadn't worn mascara today. "The ship sank and everyone died! And all their pretty clothes! And those paintings!"

Claudia had some interesting priorities.

Gwynn was very confused. She didn't see why he had to die when the girl could have made room for him. It was big enough.

Robin had never seen this movie, but he was entranced with the epic scale, and was devastated by the end.

If Dex weren't so terrifying, Rodney would totally steal the remote from him and put an end to all their suffering. He really didn't care that Celine Dion was a national icon, nothing could justify this torture.

Dinah stared. "How cold is that water, again?"

Angela was just eying the water with a certain amount of trepidation.

Somehow, submerging herself in icy water just wasn't very tempting at all. Especially not after just watching a scene in which thousands of people die like that. Ugh.

Oh hell yeah, pool party!

Emmett took off his shirt and jumped into the pool, not really worried about the cold or accidentally getting stabbed by a piece of driftwood. It was good to be him sometimes.

Okay, it was good to be him all the time.

[identity profile] darkangelsawyer.livejournal.com 2009-02-06 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Peyton? Really had no interest in getting in that water. "There's no reason she couldn't have made room. Or helped him to hold on."

After talking things over with Claudia, Brooke walked over to the teacher, simply did her best Kat Stratford impression pulled up her shirt.

And then said, "Also, I can't get in the water."
