Movie Appreciation: Week 5, Period 3 (Fri. 2/6)

For Movie Appreciation, the Danger Shop was transformed into the usual auditorium with a strange new twist. There was a giant pool of icy water off to the side with floating slabs of driftwood strewn about.

Ronon sat on the edge of the stage, waiting for students to take their seats before introducing the day's movie. "I'm told for people from the right time, Titanic is a classic romance. I watched it, and I gotta tell you, if that's romance, Earth is screwed." For serious. "So this guy falls for some girl and shows her how to live or something. Then the boat they're on gets hit by a block of ice and sinks. Now, I know, spoilers or something are bad? Whatever, if I tell you everyone ends up in icy water like that," he pointed to the tank, "you tell me how many people live or die."

"Right, so let's suffer through Celine watch some parts of it and get a feel for this movie before you guys stick yourselves in the water and decide if the chick could've made some space for that guy on her plank. Still think it's true love and romance?" He flicked a switch on the remote and started up the clips.

Okay. Have you seen Terms of Endearment? Because if you don't cry at that movie you're pretty much a Buffy vampire, sorry.

Or The English Patient. That one made me cry. In class. And not from eye pain for once. (I actually started crying during the Matrix. Everyone was very much wtf until I pointed that hey, my eyes hurt!)

I fell asleep during that one. I got bored way before any tears should have started falling.

It was that too. But there was also eye candy so it kept me awake enough to be sniffling by the end.

I have never seen that movie because I KNOW I will lose my mind and end up in a pile of tissues.

GOD. YOU HEARTLESS WENCH.

Actually, I didn't cry during this. I wanted her to end up with Billy Zane. HE HAD MONEY, YOU STUPID HO. Gawd, even after Leo died she had a chance with him. WTF. So stupid.

JUST FOR YOU.

Seriously, that ending would have made a lot more sense than pining for an ice cube.

Billy Zane was kinda creepy looking though, and wore too much eyeliner.

I think I have too much soul.

Both The Lion King and Bambi make me cry.

The only time I attempted to watch it was back in the days of VHS tapes. I got bored and gave up by the end of the first tape.
