Movie Appreciation: Week 5, Period 3 (Fri. 2/6)

For Movie Appreciation, the Danger Shop was transformed into the usual auditorium with a strange new twist. There was a giant pool of icy water off to the side with floating slabs of driftwood strewn about.

Ronon sat on the edge of the stage, waiting for students to take their seats before introducing the day's movie. "I'm told for people from the right time, Titanic is a classic romance. I watched it, and I gotta tell you, if that's romance, Earth is screwed." For serious. "So this guy falls for some girl and shows her how to live or something. Then the boat they're on gets hit by a block of ice and sinks. Now, I know, spoilers or something are bad? Whatever, if I tell you everyone ends up in icy water like that," he pointed to the tank, "you tell me how many people live or die."

"Right, so let's suffer through Celine watch some parts of it and get a feel for this movie before you guys stick yourselves in the water and decide if the chick could've made some space for that guy on her plank. Still think it's true love and romance?" He flicked a switch on the remote and started up the clips.

Blind Seer just glared back for a moment as he processed the fact that this little two-legs had just mocked him, and then his jaw gaped open in a very wolfish version of a grin. Dinah had guts; he admired that.

Firekeeper, for her part, laughed so hard she almost fell off the plank.

Dinah facepalmed, mortified, and said, "Okay, we proved they were idiots and I have no sense of self-preservation, can we get out of this cold water? Now now now?"

"I am thinking this is a good idea," Firekeeper nodded. "Also, Blind Seer say he admire your bravery in saying such things to him."

Dinah waded out, shivering, and said, "It would probably be more impressive if I'd meant to be brave? But thanks anyway, Blind Seer. I have got to learn better." She jumped up and down and stamped her feet once they were clear. "So, freezing to death, not romantic, think I'll watch a happy movie this weekend."

Firekeeper shrugged. "You speak with him, and that is more than most humans is willing to do," she said.

"Hunh. It's such a habit now, I know he's laughing at me even though he's not saying anything," she glared at Blind Seer again, caught herself, and facepalmed again. "How anyone can ignore a huge wolf that's snickering at them is beyond me."

"They not ignore, they just think he is dog, and so not smart," Firekeeper scoffed.

"Shows how much they know. I'd rub your ears, but you're all wet, and I'm freezing," Dinah told Blind Seer. To Blysse, she added, "Race you to the showers.Brrrr!"

Blind Seer just gave a good shake, sending water spraying everywhere.

"That," Firekeeper said sternly, and in Pellish English for Dinah's benefit, "was not what she was meaning by shower."

Blind Seer looked utterly unrepentant at the admonition.
