Faculty Party, The Danger Shop, Thursday afternoon through evening

Invitations had handwavily gone out to all Fandom High faculty:
Party on a cruise ship in the comfort of our own shop!

Faculty Party!

When the faculty members stepped into the Danger Shop, they saw that it did indeed look like the deck of a cruise ship on a nice, sunny day. There was a snazzy buffet, shuffleboard, deck chairs, a string quartet, and much, much more.

And an open bar.

Above the door leading out of the shop was a banner:



But enough of that. Now it was time to boogie.

[OOC: Post is open all day, huzzah! NPCs are completely free to mod. And, um, sorry about the egregious punnery inside the OCD. This is pretty bad even for me.

ETA: Also, if there are any terrible typos or other general errors anywhere, I wrote this at 3:00 AM. You're lucky I strung three words together, let alone a series of painful puns.]

Hey, there's a boat here! And over here is a dartboard with a picture of Jamie Madrox on it. The Tick couldn't figure out how that got into the shop programming and couldn't figure out how to remove it.

He didn't think anyone on the faculty would mind, though.

Logan escorted Thursday into the Danger Shop, breathing deep of the warm, salty air. He glanced at her, smiling. "Well, looks like we made it."

Emma gave the dartboard a happy look. The radio had informed her that Jamie hadn't been absorbed. Emma had been most disappointed. She went looking for darts.

The Tick attempted to remove the dartboard from the wall. Even that wasn't working. "Even after using this shop for two years, this system is still a mystery to me and I'm no Nancy Drew Stacy Etched! Well, dartboard, I guess you win this time!"

Sakura raised an eyebrow at the dartboard as she entered.

She didn't throw any darts . . . but she did take note of how many darts were in the board, and planned to monitor the board the rest of the night to see how many people were into that sort of focused recreational stress relief.

Wilson made his way into the Danger Shop, pausing by the dart board to be amused by the picture with Jamie's face on it. No wonder he just could never bring himself to terrorize the boy, the entire faculty did it for him.

The string quartet was a nice touch.

Zoe was extraordinarily pleased with how the Danger Shop had turned out. When she saw the dartboard, she couldn't resist throwing a dart at Jamie's head. Or three darts. Okay, five of them, and then she stopped because she couldn't find any more.

The Buffet

There was a general tropical theme to the food selection. The only difference between this and a typical luau set-up was that the pig was alive, eating the apple, and roasting anyone who came by. That's "roasting" as in "to ridicule or criticize severely or mercilessly."

[OOC: The pig is not a Muppet nor a Looney Tune nor anything else like that. He's just a normal, generic, run-of-the-mill anthropomorphic pig.

Actually, think Babe if Babe learned to speak in human tongues and was voiced by Don Rickles. Adorable but merciless and sounding like an old man!]

Anakin frowned.

"That was uncalled for," he said sullenly.

"So's your face," the pig replied, rolling its piggy eyes.

Deck Chairs

Lounge and get served by strapping, shirtless young men ("young" in this case meaning "several years past high school" because otherwise that would be creepy at a school faculty function). Maybe get a tan.

Just stay away from the one chair that's punching anyone who treads near it. It's a deck chair that's not afraid to deck people.

[OOC: And that chair is a normal, generic, run-of-the-mill anthropomorphic chair with a boxing glove on the end of either arm. Feel free to mod it taking a swing. You get a cookie if you let it deck you!]

The Tick stepped up to the front of the ship. There was something he'd been wanting to do.

He climbed up on the railing, threw his arms out, and bellowed, "SPOOOOOOOOOOON!"

Not quite what the famous movie depicted, but it pleased him.

A string quartet that was surprisingly adept at playing both island music and Top 40 hits from all eras and charts was performing.

They will prove to you that you haven't lived until you've heard calypso music performed by a string quartet.

Open Bar

Holographic NPC bartenders are made of awesome. Just watch out, there is in fact a bar (as in a metal thing on the wall behind the counter) that is terribly open about its feelings and may try to talk to you.
