Faculty Party, The Danger Shop, Thursday afternoon through evening

Invitations had handwavily gone out to all Fandom High faculty:
Party on a cruise ship in the comfort of our own shop!
Thursday, May 3!
The Danger Shop!
Faculty Party!

When the faculty members stepped into the Danger Shop, they saw that it did indeed look like the deck of a cruise ship on a nice, sunny day. There was a snazzy buffet, shuffleboard, deck chairs, a string quartet, and much, much more.

And an open bar.

Above the door leading out of the shop was a banner:

But enough of that. Now it was time to boogie.

[OOC: Post is open all day, huzzah! NPCs are completely free to mod. And, um, sorry about the egregious punnery inside the OCD. This is pretty bad even for me.

ETA: Also, if there are any terrible typos or other general errors anywhere, I wrote this at 3:00 AM. You're lucky I strung three words together, let alone a series of painful puns.]

"It's an open invitation. You're always welcome, Logan."

"And you at mine," he said, touched. "Though there's not much to see except a ruined city and political unrest."

"It all sounds like Victor Hugo. Are you sure you're not an escaped fictional Frenchman from Les Misérables in disguise?"

He laughed. "Fairly sure," he said. "But there are some odd similarities, now that I think about it."

"Art imitates life no matter the century. That's why Les Misérables is a classic. We're a predictable society."

"To a degree," he said, smiling. "Or I like to think that people will surprise you, sometimes. I wouldn't have gotten anywhere if I didn't hold on to that hope anyway."

Logan finally took a sip of his drink and coughed, pausing a moment as he let it settle. "Wow."

"Is it that good?" Thursday looked surprised and eyed her own. "I guess there's only one way to find out." She steeled herself and sipped her Gargle Blaster. Coughing and spluttering followed. "Wow is the most appropriate thing I can think of. Thank goodness it's holographic." She took another sip, ready for it this time. "It's a wonder no one has written about this. It's the stuff of legends."

He nodded, swallowing another cough of his own and wincing slightly. "It's like being hit in the head with something amazing," he said, looking into his glass, somewhat incredulously.

"A brick wrapped in lemons." It was the first thing that came to mind. "One that's not entirely on this plane of existence."

Logan nodded and took another drink, letting the feeling wash over him again with a sudden exhalation. "A gold brick," he said, randomly. "It's just like that, yes."

"I'm going to have to try one of these again. Preferrably in a smaller glass, I think."

Logan was looking around the boat though and he turned back to Thursday with a grin. "First, do you think you might grace me with a dance?"

She looked surprised. "Are you sure? There might be stomped feet involved."

"I'm very sure," he said sincerely, holding out his hand to her.

She sucked in a deep breath and took his hand, still looking somewhat sceptical.
