Janet yawned as she flipped on the library lights. She hadn't gotten much sleep last night.

Janet was awake. Barely. And she was a little cranky about it too.

Zero slouched into the library. "Driver's Ed...canceled. But I'm awake anyway. Why?"

"Because life sucks?" asked Janet. "Just think, if anyone else shows up this early, we can take our shared agony out on them."

Second Period

The crankiness had abated slightly, but Janet was a little distracted now. She could be composing a couple of long and slightly irritable e-mails to people back home.

Pippi flounces in with a big bag of caramel candies from All and Sundries.

"Hello again... Janet!" she grinned. She's getting the hang of this whole, "remembering a person's name correctly" thing.

"Hey, Pippi," said Janet, looking up and smiling. "How's it going?"

"It's going very well thank you." she said.

"I've come to pay you back for my fine!" She presented Janet with a bag of assorted caramels. Regular caramels, chocolate covered, mixed with nuts, wrapped around nougat, the whole nine yards.

"Thank you again."

Angela is around and shooting slightly suspicious glances at Janet.

Janet is ignoring the suspicious glances. She's very good at ignoring things when she doesn't want to deal with them.

"Hey, Angela," she says cheerfully. After all, she's furious with Marty, not with Angela.

"Hey," Angela replied, leaning against the counter. "So ..." She paused. She had no desire to get in the middle of a roommate squabble, really.

"How are the caramels?" she asked instead.

Third Period

Janet was off at Journalistic Integrity. One of the other library aides is likely to be around.

"The Essential Sailor, and the cast list for Midsummer's. Did you see who they got for the changeling child?" Parker looks like she wants to kill someone or laugh, but hasn't made up her mind yet.

Janet is back. She can be interrupted from her studying. And trust me, she won't mind.

Daniel? Was still telling himself that he was a calm, mature and responsible adult.

Hopefully if he said it enough times, it'd actually sink in.

"Hi, Janet," he said, his voice managing to sound vaguely normal.

Janet, who was totally clueless about anything Daniel might have been worried about, smiled widely when he came in.

Then she remembered the whole student/teacher dynamic and tried to look serious. She failed miserably, of course.

"Hey," said Janet. "How's it going?"

Daniel found that he couldn't look her in the eyes. Because that wasn't suspicious or anything.

"It's, um, been, um, interesting." Yes. Interesting was a good word.

Lunch

Janet's got a fluffy romance novel open behind the Collections Desk and can't stop giggling at it.

Janet's left for her TA meeting with Dr. Pierson. Someone else should be able to help you if you couldn't make it in before now.
