Blair Sandburg," Daniel replied. "He's only a freshman; don't hurt him."

Daniel's shoes were suddenly very fascinating. "Um. Okay. With Vala and Elizabeth?"

He could barely believe that he had asked that.

"He's only a very dead freshman," said Janet.

"Not with Vala," said Janet. Since she could figure out that Daniel was asking about her specifically and she figured she may as well get that revelation over with.

She really needed to be drunk right now.

"Don't blame him. I was the one asking him."

Daniel almost relaxed for a split second, before his brain processed what she had said. His jaw dropped slightly, and for a moment all he could do was stare at Janet.

"You... ah, you mean, um, you and, um."

Yep. Brain had just exploded there.

"Would you rather I blamed you?" she asked.

Janet sighed. She was sure she was beet red. "Yes," she said, looking away again. "Me and Liz. We've made with the girlkissy."

This was really not her week.

Daniel winced. "Um. No."

This? Was not something Daniel had ever expected to deal with. Ever.

He might have flailed just a bit. "But she's a girl?"

Yes, Daniel, that's why it's called girlkissy. Alas his brain was no longer capable of adding two and two together.

"Sacrifice the freshman on the altar of blame, Daniel," said Janet. "It's what everyone does in a high school."

Janet buried her face in her palm for a minute before she answered. "Trust me, Daniel, I definitely noticed that," said Janet. And then she blushed again. "It just so happens that I like both girls and boys in that way."

"Um, okay then. But I feel bad about it."

Daniel just gaped. "I never knew that about you."

"I don't," said Janet. "They're resilient. They'll survive."

"Daniel, I was in the military for quite a number of years," said Janet. "It wasn't exactly something I advertised."

"I think I need to sit down," Daniel said, still staring at her. "I just never thought...

You and Elizabeth?"

Janet gestured at the chair behind the desk. "Have a seat, please." She was leaning against the wall already.

"Yes!" exclaimed Janet. "Liz and myself. Both of us. Like girls. And, um, each other."

She could possibly drop dead ~~again~~ on the floor here. It might make her life easier right now.

Daniel sank down heavily into the chair.

"Um. Okay. Wow. Okay."

Janet closed her eyes, leaned her head back against the wall, and sighed.

"Are you all right?" she asked.

"I think I'm in shock," Daniel replied honestly, leaning his head on his hands.

"Oh," said Janet. "Okay, then." She beat her head against the wall a couple of times. "What now?"

Daniel tried not to groan as a picture flashed before his eyes. That was not what he needed to think of right now.

"I... I don't know," he said.

"You're the one who's having problems with this." And with me? She sighed. "Let me guess, you need some time?" she asked resignedly.

"It's not everyday I learn that my girlfriend's been kissing another girl," Daniel said, closing his eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose.

He looked up at her. "Janet, I love you. The fact that you also have... something with Elizabeth doesn't change that."

"It just--evolved," said Janet. She slid down against the wall until she was sitting on the ground. Her head was starting to ache.

"But it's changing things," she said. "Isn't it?"

"How long has it been going on?" Daniel asked quietly.

He nodded. "It has to," he said honestly. "It's just this whole other thing I didn't know about you."

"On and off since shortly after we met," said Janet. She drew her knees up to her chest and leaned her head back against the wall again.

"Is it the thing with Liz or knowing that I'm attracted to women?" asked Janet. Her head was throbbing. "Or both? The fact that I'm attracted to women shouldn't be anything huge. It just--is."

"That long?" Daniel hadn't really known what to expect, but he was pretty sure it hadn't been that.

"Yes, no, I don't. I know it's not a huge thing. Really. I'm just having a little trouble with it at the moment. And I the fact that it's Elizabeth as well." Daniel really wasn't sure what to think anymore. He should have had more coffee this morning.

"Yes." Janet wrapped her arms around her knees and leaned her forehead on them. The light wasn't really helping her head right now. "That long. You and I weren't exactly a steady item for a long time either, you know."

"What kind of trouble are you having with it?" she asked dully. "And why is the fact that it's Liz also problematic?"

"I know," Daniel sighed. He looked across at her. "Are you okay?"

"Well, it's unexpected to start with. I came in here to ask you about streaking in the common room
and it led into this," he said. "As for Elizabeth, well, I didn't expect that of her, much less that she'd be with you."

"My head is killing me," said Janet, her voice muffled because she kept her head down. "It hasn't been a good couple of days."

"Why would you think I would be streaking in the common room?" Janet sighed. "We clicked. In a different way than you and I did. And yes, rumor has it that the adult Elizabeth Weir is much more serious and businesslike, but I've never met her."

"And I'm not helping with this. I'm sorry."

"Well, I know that you've had some wild parties, and such," Daniel replied, looking slightly embarrassed. "Um, I kinda got that impression." He blushed. "And I've not seen much of the young Elizabeth to compare, but the adult Elizabeth had a well-developed sense of responsibility, and certainly took on enough of it."
