Today Anakin's desk was covered with droid babies in bassinets.

Each baby had a tiny stuffed Ewok tucked next to it. Shh.

"Today we talk about lust," Anakin said. "Or rather, the unintended consequences that can happen when you take action without precautions."

He smiled. "Meet your little projects for the next week. They're heavy, they cry, and they will record everything you do with them. So if you stuff them into a closet for a week, believe me, I'll know."

He reached for a list of paper. "Some of you I've paired together, some of you are single parents." His smile turned a little evil. "Some of your babies are a little fussier than others."

He was a petty, petty man.

Reno had the sneaking suspicion that these babies wouldn't be as simple to deal with as the eggs from Art of Cool were.

And was pretty sure they wouldn't make a half decent omelet anyhow.

Actually? Amber wasn't too distressed over this. She took care of an egg for a week. Granted, it fell and broke and she had to replace it. The point was that she figured she could handle a droid baby.

Karal was very distracted, but this was enough to get his attention.

And set Altra to laughing so hard he rolled onto his back, paws in the air. "Sunlord, it is not funny," he muttered.

Lana's eyes went wide. At least so far they were quiet which was really a relief because of her pounding head.

Bayla had been around for three days, and had worn her out. Then again, the droid baby hopefully slept more than a sugar-fueled seven-year-old.

Evey went up and got the two babies, carrying one in the crook of either arm and sighing a little. She'd have to figure out names.

Andrew hadn't physically been able to be in class since February. From Andrew's perspective, it had been nearly three months.

He was fully prepared to get yelled at by Anakin, which is probably why he was preemptively wincing as he approached his teacher.

The assignment is totally handwavable. If you're looking for specifics to play with: the babies are programmed to cry for at least fifteen minutes a day, and to wake up at 2:30 in the morning. They are also tamper-proof and will beep Very, Very Loudly if you try.
