Today Anakin's desk was covered with droid babies in bassinets.

Each baby had a tiny stuffed Ewok tucked next to it. Shh.

"Today we talk about lust," Anakin said. "Or rather, the unintended consequences that can happen when you take action without precautions."

He smiled. "Meet your little projects for the next week. They're heavy, they cry, and they will record everything you do with them. So if you stuff them into a closet for a week, believe me, I'll know."

He reached for a list of paper. "Some of you I've paired together, some of you are single parents." His smile turned a little evil. "Some of your babies are a little fussier than others."

He was a petty, petty man.

"Wizard," Harry said by way of explanation.

"We don't get along too well with technology," he clarified after a pause. "Or it doesn't get along well with us."

"Ah..." Lana said. "So... I guess that makes me the primary caretaker... I don't know what Professor Skywalker would do to us if we broke them."

Harry had some thoughts on what the professor might do to him if he exploded the robot baby. He wasn't going to share said thoughts.

"I can try taking care of them," he offered. He didn't want to look like a slacker and he didn't want to be leaving Lana with all the work. "See how it goes."

"Up to you, I guess," Lana said uneasily. "Just... you get to explain what happened if, well, anything does happen."

"I figure I start with 'sorry sir, I blew up the babies' and work from there," Harry said. "See how that goes. I just don't want you having to do all the work."

"Blow them up!" Lana said, moving the babies away from him automatically. "You didn't say anything about blowing them up!"

"They probably wouldn't really blow up," Harry said defensively. "More like maybe spark a little. Maybe some smoke. Possibly there would be little fried electronic bits of electronic babies..."

He really wasn't helping his case here.

"Oh no," Lana said. "I am not letting you blow up the babies. We'll just have to find a way for you to help out without actually... touching them. Or coming near them."

"I wouldn't do it on purpose!" Well, probably not.

"Okay. We can figure something out."

"I'm sure you wouldn't," Lana said soothingly, half to him and half to the two babies she was holding. "Maybe you can be the provider half of the deal. Make sure I have whatever I need, arrange babysitters from time to time?"

"I think I can manage that," Harry said. "And I'll try not to get too close."

"That works for me," Lana said. "Any chance you can rig me up some way to be able to easily carry both of them at once?"

"Sticking them in a backpack's not an option, right?" Harry was mostly not serious.

"I can probably think of something. Or try to at least. See how it goes."

"Yeah, I think stuffing them in a backpack might be frowned upon. Though if two of them could be padded and hooked together somehow... that might work."

"I'll get back to you," Harry promised. ~~In a handwavey manner most likely since I'll be AFK most of the weekend~~

"All right," Lana said. "I'm in room 322. Um... we should probably name them, don't you think? Do you have any names you'd like?"

"I'll stop sometime soonish," Harry said. "And I like, uh, Maggie."

Lana's heart broke a little, but she managed to smile and nod. "Maggie's fine. Anything else? Maybe Lara?"

"Was my mom's name," Harry said, feeling a need to explain for some reason. "Lara's good, sure."

"Lara was my mom's name," Lana admitted. "Okay, then we're good with names. I'll just... get them back to my room and rig up some sort of bassinette thing and... we'll go from there."

"Sounds good. I'm in 506, if you need me."

Lana nodded. "506. I'll remember that. And if these guys keep me up too much you're going to have to keep me supplied with coffee!"

"That I can definitely manage. I am a master at procuring caffeinated beverages."

"Excellent," she said. "Okay, Harry, so... do Maggie and Lara get your last name or mine or both?

"Uhh...both sounds good." Robot babies were already more complicated than he'd thought.
