Library, Saturday evening

After this morning's adventures in town, Isabel hit the library to start researching. Surely somewhere in the books there was some kind of information about trolls. Every once in a while she'd look out the window and fret at the fighting.

[open for the research folks! Going AFK for about 30 minutes.]

Yomiko peered out of the office. Wasn't today Saturday? Why were there students in the library? "Isabel? Is something wrong?"

"There are trolls, or at least things that looks amazing troll-like tearing up the town," Isabel explained. "I was thinking that maybe we could find out something about them here in the books."

"Right," Yomiko said. "Wait here."

She went into the librarian's office and returned with a new box of dragon-hide gloves, her briefcase, and the key to Special Collections.

"Any volunteers for Special Collections?" she called as she set the box of gloves down on the table. "This time only, no teacher's note required!"

The briefcase, she didn't set down. In fact, it seemed to be handcuffed to her wrist.

After hearing the mornings announcment, Briar headed for the library with most of his collection of daggers hidden beneath various layers of clothing.

"Briar!" Isabel said. "Feel like doing research?"

Briar smiled at Isabel. "That's why I'm here. I'm limited to Co-English though."

Hermione heads straight to the library after the announcement, carrying several books sold in the wizarding world and asking, "Do we know what they look like? I brought research materials."

"They're big and ugly and a piece of driftwood upside the head really doesn't slow them down," Isabel said in a rush.

"But no species?" she asks, sitting down at a table and already looking through Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. She's also got all of her Defense Against the Dark Arts books, just in case, along with a few random things she'd picked up over the last few years.

"Hello, Hermione," Ms. Readman said. "What sort of research materials?"

"Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, by Newt Scamander, my Defense Against the Dark Arts books, some notes, particularly from my third year, and several smaller texts on various creatures I picked up," she rattled off.

After hearing the principal's announcement over the intercom, Hamlet decided that he couldn't just do nothing. Since he wasn't sure how well blunted foils would work against full trolls, he made his way down to the library.

"Do you need any assistance here?" he asked.

"Yes!" Yomiko called as she went by with a briefcase in one hand and an armload of books in the other. "Trolls! Find things out about them! If you're feeling brave, grab some gloves from the box and join Isabel and the Moss kid up-post in Special Collections."

Hamlet grabbed some gloves from the box that Ms Readman had pointed out, and headed back into the special collections to help out. He hoped that they had the reference books on the right kind of trolls to defeat in there.

"Could somebody get that!" Yomiko called without looking up from the book she was reading.

Hermione picks her book up, and still skimming, picks up the phone. "Hello, Fandom High library, this is Hermione speaking."

She's polite like that.

Phone Call from Wilson

As he began to put the pieces together from what he had seen himself and from the injuries slowly pouring into the clinic Wilson began to put together a picture of what was happening and on a spurt of an idea, he picked up the phone and called in to the library up at the school.

What was with people calling the library today? "Yes, what?" Yomiko asked as she picked up the phone. "And if this is Mr. Joker, I really do not have time right now."

During the afternoon, as the fighting outside got louder, Angela made her way to the library. "Is there anything I can do?" she asked.

Isabel had made a quick trip out of SC for a drink. "We're reading up on trolls in Special Collections if you want to come back and help."

"Okay," Yomiko said after a while. "Let's hear what we've found out and figure out what we can do with it."

"Nothing, unless you want to hear about troll feast days or armor patterns," Angela said glumly. "My books seemed useless."

Rory - with Greg in tow - arrived late. "I'm so sorry - this idiot," she emphasized that word with a sharp tug on Greg's sleeve as he winced, "was trying to blow himself up in the hallway and I got sidetracked. I brought my books though! Stupid trolls."

"I was trying out chemicals to make those stupid trolls go boom. Let go," Greg whined, yanking his arm away from Rory as she rolled her eyes exasperatedly.
