Library, Saturday evening

After this morning's adventures in town, Isabel hit the library to start researching. Surely somewhere in the books there was some kind of information about trolls. Every once in a while she'd look out the window and fret at the fighting.

"I don't know anything about asses getting kicked," Yomiko said. She was a little distracted by a book in Old Church Slavonic. It had been a while since she'd needed to read OCS. "This is the library."

"Yes, I know this is the library as that is the number I dialed." Wilson said calmly.

"I was curious to know if anyone had cracked into Special Collections to look into the creatures invading the island at the moment? Meeting them with brute force doesn't seem to be having much affect and I wanted to see what other measures were being taken and if it involved books, to offer up the resources in an angelic library."

"We think they're trolls. We've got a few people in Special Collections and--you've got a what??" Yomiko said, her mental processes coming to a screeching halt at 'angelic library.'

Aziraphale might grump, but Wilson didn't think he'd grump much.

"An angelic library...I could have him pull some of the more esoteric books and take a look in them, give you a call and compare notes with what is found in Special Collections? What can you tell me about what we already know about these trolls?"

"You've got a what?" Yomiko repeated again. "What do you mean 'angelic'? Are these really really good books?" She was kind of flailing. "Oh. Um. We think they're trolls." That was about it, as far as she knew.

"It's a bit of a story." He said as he finally caught on to the flailing. "I can explain later. Let me get hold of the books and I'll call you back when I have something."

She still didn't know what an angelic library consisted of, but she wanted one for Christmas. "All right. Anything you can find out would be helpful, I think. Thank you!"

It did not take Wilson long to contact Phale, even in the middle of angelic smiting "James, I can't talk right now, I'm -- Oh BUGGER, would you stop that! -- fighting some trolls love, and -- *slashing sounds* -- sorry love, what was it you needed?" and after a brief conversation a couple books the angel figured would assist Wilson appeared in the clinic.

In between people arriving at the clinic, Wilson attacked the books, just as he would any diagnostic question. He had symptoms, he needed to see what fit the symptoms.

It wasn't easy but Wilson did trip across a tidbit which fits beautifully in with Phale being an angel and when he had a moment, he called back up to the library.

"Yes, hello, Fandom High Library," Yomiko said in a distracted voice.

"Yes, this is Dr. Wilson, calling back? I have those books and I found a couple interesting items that might be useful, either in further research or in any notes that are being pulled together?"

"All right, what did you find out?" Yomiko asked.

There was the sound of paper being rustled and then Wilson read off.

"'To ward off the trolls you could always trust in Christianity: Church bells, a cross or even words like "Jesus" or "Christ" would work against them.'"

Pausing, he asked curiously. "Has anyone been in touch with the Sister who runs the church here in Fandom?"

"...There's a church?" Yomiko's not exactly good at paying attention to her surroundings. Always got her nose in a book, that one. "Um, that is, probably not."

"Right." Wilson said, looking back down at the book. "It also mentions an aversion to steel and Thor's Hammer...I'm not sure we have Thor's Hammer but a bunch of the students are probably taking care of the steel part."

Tapping the book with his fingers, Wilson pondered something. "I think I should probably call Aziraphale and send him towards the church."

"I don't know who Aziraphale is, but if you think it'll help, sure. Thor's Hammer. Mjolnir? Where are we supposed to get Mjolnir on this short notice??" Yomiko flailed some more.

"Ask Special Collections?" Wilson suggested and he wasn't all together joking. He'd heard some definite stories about Special Collections.

"Good idea. HEY GUYS!" Yomiko called without moving the phone away from her mouth. Oops. "SEE IF YOU CAN FIND ANYTHING ABOUT MJOLNIR!"

Wincing, Wilson held the phone away from his ear. When the yelling stopped, he spoke back into the mouth piece.

"I need to go, make that call. I'll be in touch if I learn anything more."

"All right. Thank you! You've been very helpful." Yomiko glared at her book, which seemed to have a lot of nattering about bridges and goats in it. "More helpful than this thing, anyway," she muttered.
