Library, Saturday evening

After this morning's adventures in town, Isabel hit the library to start researching. Surely somewhere in the books there was some kind of information about trolls. Every once in a while she'd look out the window and fret at the fighting.

"Nothing, unless you want to hear about troll feast days or armor patterns," Angela said glumly. "My books seemed useless."

"I've been looking through the basic folklore stuff," Isabel said. "Depending on the book, they can be killed or weakened by iron."

Hermione actually raises her hand. "This type of troll seems to take people and replace them with changelings," she recites. "The females appear to be beautiful women, like the new girls mentioned on the radio. They also apparently turn to stone when killed, but possibly not all of them. And apparently this isn't the type of troll that turns to stone in the daylight." This last part might be said with an eyeroll.

"Great," Yomiko said. "The steel thing goes with what that guy on the phone told me--actually, he said they were susceptible to steel and Thor's hammer, but I don't think we'll be finding Mjolnir on such short notice. And don't worry, Angela, my books were more of same. But that last part..." Yomiko half-remembered the previous night's radio. "Weren't those girls taking an awful lot of people somewhere?"

"It seems like they were," Isabel nodded. "The question is, are they still on the island?"

"Well, they're here for a reason and they're attacking here," Hermione says, frowning. "I would assume they are. I would think whatever they want is still here."

Angela bit a thumbnail. "Well, what do they want?" she asked. "Food, weapons, things to hit with their weapons ... what's unique to the island?"
