Library, Saturday evening

After this morning's adventures in town, Isabel hit the library to start researching. Surely somewhere in the books there was some kind of information about trolls. Every once in a while she'd look out the window and fret at the fighting.

"Sorry, most of my experiece with trolls is limited to the ones that hide under bridges in fairytales," Isabel said. "Although I wonder if they're related to all the missing people."

Hermione brightened. "Trolls? I helped fight one, once!"

"You did? Did you win?" she asked. "Because if you did? You might want to be out there then. It looks like they could use some help."

Hermione looks toward the door, looking torn. "I only really won because I had help," she admits. "I want to help, but I think I can do more here." A clone would be really nice right now.

"True, there's plenty of bodies and weapons out there right now," Isabel nodded. "Here's what we know. I'm not sure if it's all related or not. But it's strange enough that it could be." Grabbing a pen and a piece of paper, she started listing things out. "People are missing. People are missing after being in the company of strange girls last night. There are big, ugly trolls rampaging through town and attacking the school. Any ideas?"

"It has to be connected," she says. "Maybe the girls are captives working for them. Or the trolls are shapeshifters. Why take people if they're attacking now, though?"

"Maybe they didn't take enough?" she wondered.

She bites her lip, considering this. "If this is right, then yesterday they took people quietly so no one would notice, and today they come out in what I hope is full force and not just the beginning... Maybe they had to speed up their plans? Maybe they just needed some people out of the way first?"

"Possibly," Isabel nodded. "I can't think of anything specific about the people that were taken though."

"Maybe they were just around, or looked like easy targets," she says. "And how do we defeat them? Fire usually works. Cutting off the head a lot of the time..."

Jack wasn't an easy target, but then again, Radio did say he was with a girl. "I suppose we could always get out the makeshift blowtorches if we need to. They worked well against the mummies."

Hermione gets out her notes and starts making a list of potential weapons on a blank page. "Do you think they can be knocked out? That's how we dealt with ours. I'm not sure how strong they are..."

"I hit a few of them in the head with some chunks of driftwood. It didn't really slow them down unfortunately," she said.

"Did you see what did any damage?" she wonders.

"I tossed some sand in their faces, that blinded them for a bit." Isabel wrinkled her nose as the picture of troll boykissy flashed through her head.

"There has to be a way," she says confidently, trying to think of some spells that might work. "Nothing is invincible."

"Oh I'm sure there is. We just need to find it."
