Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that fh_weather is reporting. Yes, I'm modding the weather. Admin privilege.]

"I hope not, this looks like it has the potential to be fun," Isabel grinned.

"It's so cheesy. I'm finding it unreasonably fun." Parker grinned and looked around. "Hang on."

She came back with a fruity drink of her own, and looked around for Jarod. "Did you have fun canoeing with Jack? I was a little too busy to pay attention."

"Exactly," Isabel agreed. "It's so tacky it's hilarious" She held her drink up. "Cheers!"

"I was with Jack, how could I not have fun?"

"Very good actually," she grinned. "Provided no volcanoes erupt or random tiki statues start demanding sacrifices. How about you?"

Jamie gives Isabel a slightly wary look. "Does everyone in fandom expect bizarre events at every occasion?"

"I'm fine. Just sitting back and enjoying the evening really. How's life over at the cabin? Getting along with all your cabin mates?"

"Yes," she said simply. "If you expect the weird then you can be pleasantly surprised when it all goes well."

"Life in the cabin in fun. I'm lucky, I like everyone there. How's life as a Stickbug treating you?"

"How is your terribly exciting luau-ness so far?" Greg asked with a grin as he went to sit beside her.

"Pretty mellow at the moment," she replied. "I've just been sitting here sipping my drink and enjoying the fire. But there will be dancing at some point this evening. And possibly even an attempt at the limbo. Are you going to join me when I do?"

Jack looked down at his shirt, then at Izzy. "I like the shirt. I'm not gonna button it though."

Isabel snickered and poked at his belly button. "That would just be criminal if you did."

Jack laughed as she poked him and squirmed a bit. "That's what I thought, too. I wouldn't have worn it all, except that I wanted people to admire your handiwork." Jack fingered the shirt thoughtfully. "Will this change back, eventually?"

"I appreciate the sacrifice you're making for me," she grinned. "And it won't change back unless I change it. So let me know if you want a Hawaiian shirt as a permanent part of your wardrobe."
