Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that fh_weather is reporting. Yes, I'm modding the weather. Admin privilege.]

"I know," she said. "It's bad enough being in a new place when you planning on going there. To just wind up sent there suddenly? He's just down the hall from me. I'll have to make sure to visit when we get back to the dorms."

Isabel nodded, thinking of what she'd asked Xander to do. It wasn't much but it might help a bit. "We'll just have to help him settle in here then, won't we?"

Jack smiled at her in something that might have been gratitude. "Thanks, Isabel. He's good people, and I kind of owe him, so anything you can do to help would be good."

"Not a problem. I've got something in mind. I'll let you know if I can pull it off." She poked Jack in the ribs. "In the mean time I think you're doing a good job of making him feel welcome."

"I fear your devious mind, Izzy. I'm just glad you're on my side." He snagged her hand when she poked him. "And I'm trying. I can be very welcoming, with the right motivation."
